He has such a massive PA rating on this one, in my save in 2030 he was just amazing, was the principle reason Blackburn became a force in England (and since he has left why they have dropped massively again).
Tried to sign him on a free to CAFC but he chose to retire instead.

Ugh played 3 games lost 1 won 2 get enough for promotion into League 1 (playing Barnet) and the game crashes
I would just replay those 3 games until I got similar results.
Been approached for my 1st job offer, AFC Wimbledon want me to take control...had to turn it down, my star striker won't follow me and the board won't sell him for anything less than £1M (he's 17, I bought him at 16 for £14K)...

I set my auto save to every week, stopped it from compressing the save file to speed it up and I save before and after every game manually. Took awhile to get used to it but now I never lose progress.

Un-compressing the save file reduces saving time or processing time?

It reduces saving time considerably. Certainly helped here. Although with all the leagues installed the processing time can be a bit of a hog unfortunately.

You know it's funny but it makes me wonder if the AI can detect some potential that we don't necessarily see until much later in their careers. I have had the odd ridiculous offer for star young players.
Yeah it will reduce the save time, I have it saving to my SSD so that helps too. Having it compressed my file size is 200mb and 800mb uncompressed after 8 years. Make sure you have room
He's got good stats already though.
I bought him from Southampton (aged 17) in the 2015-2016 season for 7.75m. He's also already got 36 England caps (started aged 17).

I'm in my 4th season in my Chester save, I've not been wanting to rush them so I've even had to throw a few games throwing out awful teams

I bought a bunch of youth in my last 2-3 seasons, hopefully get them to an acceptable Npower League 1 and 2 level so I can make money without blowing loads on players.
Anyway, during my Pre-season for BSP, I played Cardiff, beat them 2-1. Leicester Reserves, I beat them 2-0, and then Huddersfield, I beat them 2-0.
Crazy, I expect Doncaster (My parent club) to kill me again like, but it doesn't look like I can throw this season lol, they're on top form.

haha i've been there. Play your goalies in the striker position and see what happens I'm experiencing LOADS of crashes but all seem to be when I flick back to the desktop - when I flick back into the game I can almost guarantee a crash at some point. Recalling my Kilmarnock save, my goal keeper was the best penalty taker I had..

I've noticed the game has been horrendously unstable recently, Laptop and PC.

He's still at Derby on £37k per week in mine and he doesn't look anything special (now 2024, he's aged 28). Played plenty of games each season too, so it's not like he's been stuck in the reserves.

Losing about 5 games in a row now on my Anderlecht game (FM12 though)...Need some tips to stop the rot, tried moving from my attacking formation to a more solid 4-5-1 but i've lost 2 1-0's in a row using that?
I've started getting a few more crashes again (large database well into the future), did a reinstall and just remember to save a little more often/not leave it running all day seems to help.
Yeah PA isn't a guarantee their CA (current ability) will match up, so sometimes he'll be amazing and sometimes he'll just be alright, depends a bit on training facilities, coaching, the team he plays in and so on (so sitting at Derby for 10-15 years in the champ has sort of killed off his ambition to be as amazing as in my save). It's interesting because sometimes it's human player interaction that makes them amazing and sometimes it's just a bit of luck/random events in FM engine.
Do a team meeting in FM12, tell them you think a lot more can come from the team, that tends to inspire them.
