Love the idea of the Pentagon challenge! :p (just doing Africa is impossible really, probably will convert my Bishops Stortford save into that challenge eventually anyway for the fun of it, once I have made a non league team into a prem team).

Best monster chance game I have had recently is at home to Bournemouth, won 2-1 but had 35 chances!!! :eek: 14 on target and still only buried 2 :(

Crying it, how can loaning a player be rejected "because they want him to play at a higher level" when Leeds in the SAME division get accepted :mad:

Yes Leeds have a big reputation (from 2000ish and since have been doing lower leagues like a boss) but we are 9 points above them in the league!!! :mad:

You need to get an African team and stick with it for a few seasons. Obviously, you need to get very lucky. I'm hoping to have a good European run with Galatasaray, then actually start the challenge.
 
Started a new season as wolves, had an amazing season only lost 6 games, won league cup and top of championship. Not only that but i got to the final of the FA cup... then im sorry to say i cheated. Had the worst draw i could have, Mancity and im in the away position (even though its not at either home i find that positioning makes it more impossible. I managed the game twice, first game i had 19 shots 10 on target they had 6 shots 6 on target and i lost 6-0. After my second attempt and losing 7-1 i thought sod it... must have reloaded and went on holiday about 40 times untill i got a sneaky 2-1 win..... felt cheap doing that but it was so angry.
 
^^ sorry but Wolves are too easy, picking them to start the game is cheating no matter what. Asked a mate about his Wolves save, basically he said they are like the 21st prem team, can buy almost anyone and so long as you win everything you are fine :p

I am saving Africa for a separate save to get the Egyptian league enabled, seems the best way to tackle the african champions league (and ruin the challenge in one save). I like that plan, stick out a team till its 5-6 years in the future for good regens to come through and them hammer away!

Only thing that annoys me is all the big teams have started to hoover up all the good regens already, worse still they are playing them to keep them happy :(

Thankfully all the real players are rising up and getting their knickers in a twist about it which seems to mean good players are our there, just not the ones for the future...

I started the game without downloading the custom leagues (egypt, Morocco etc.). You can't add custom leagues mid-way through a save game. I need to work some magic.
 
YESSSS! Managed to get an easy team in the CL! Not even sure how they qualified tbh....or who they are (or where they come from!!!). Their name is so hard I can't spell it :P

Anyone around to try connecting to an online game of mine, a friend was having some odd problems earlier. He could connect, but was not able to chose a team, could only start as unemployed.
 
I'm a wolves fan hence my choice :p. Im a penny pincher so didnt actually buy anyone apart from wellington nem but i always buy him on every save.

i Had played as wolves before the patches and it was a lot harder back then! still think my team over performed especially against the big teams though i struggled against the bottom 4 everygame.

Now that im promoted there is a lack of players still willing to come to me, some which will want outragous wages like an average RB was 70k a week.

Just been offered a 31yo Kaka!! for only 3million aswell.... but he wants 250kp/w

I always seem to be complaining about FM2013 but I thought I would be constructive and list the problems I have with it and maybe once a few of you guys have added to it I will keep emailing the guys and see if they will do anything abut it before taking our money next year.

Club Reputation/changes once promoted/relegated.
Crazy wages.
Unpredictability in scorelines no matter what team you put out.
Selling players.
The loan system.
Player development by the AI.
 
Just got this. As a non-football playing non-expert it's a bit of a shock :D

I'm used to Fifa 13 on my iphone :o

So.. Can anyone offer any startup tips? I've chosen my team and have got my assistant manager to help with most bits and pieces.
 
Managed to get Portsmouth promoted in my first season :cool:. First few months were though, within 2 more days I'd have been down to just 4 players (contracts were 3 months long for many players) - but got a take over in time. Got loads of loans/frees (some were stonking deals!) and my wages are still under £28k/week for the whole squad;

DJ Campbell/Bothroyd together managed 32 goals and the amount of late goals giving me draws helped - managed to draw 23 times avoiding losing points in losses which was ridiculously helpful.

Rivaldo was awesome after signing too, not sure how he'll cope in the Championship though!

Hopefully I get some sort of cash this season as I'm not sure I can deal with keeping my wages under £25-30k/week for a whole team, especially trying to improve it next season!
 
Getting a bit annoyed with how buggy this is for me. Every time I close the game down I get a Windows error message telling me FM 2013 has stopped responding, meaning I have to force close it each time. I'm getting loads of runtime errors too, annoying because I like to save my game manually and you never know when it's going to throw a hissy fit and crash to desktop. Just now I was playing and my laptop just completely switched itself off, earlier I was playing and I got a runtime error, relaunched the game, reloaded my save and then got another straight after. :rolleyes:

Just uninstalled it and I'm going to try re-downloading it through Steam to see what happens, I've already tried verifying the integrity of files through Steam, as well as removing my saves and badge packs but the problems were still there.

I play although am not really a football fan nowadays and do not understand the game too deep, but I love it.
 
That's madness! I got over excited buying in a keeper at £120k in january...

Might actually finish L1 this evening, 2nd-9th are separated by 2 points and I am 4th :D
