******* Official Football Manager 14 Thread *******

I think he means the folder within My Documents where save games and tactics etc are stored.

To move it simply copy the contents to where ever you like then go in preferences within game and in the 'saving' panel just click 'change folder', select your folder and then restart FM.

Yes thats what I meant.

I'll have a go cheers

For those asking, the #FM14beta update change list would be too long, as there are over 600 bug fixes. You should now be playing v14.0.3

Niice, hopefully it doesn't break my save it's downloading (very slowly) on Steam for me at the moment.

The only solution I know of, is to move the Steam games folder to another disk. There might be other solutions. I've read something about linked folders, i.e. you have the files on another drive but there's a 'link' on your SSD that points to the alternative destination.

The Steam move is probably the easiest. :)

IMO the best thing for it is Link Shell Extension.

I have done it this way. I moved the graphics folder from

C:\Users\Matthew\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2014
to
D:\Games\Football Manager 2014 Graphics\graphics

When the graphics folder is on the the HDD, right click it and select Pick Link Source from the context menu. Go back to Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2014 then right click somewhere in the window and select Drop As.. > junction from the context menu. The graphics folder should appear there with a little icon near it, go ingame and reload your skin cache and everything should work.

Doing it this way keeps your Save files on the SSD for faster saving/loading and all your pictures on the HDD, this saves me over 10GB.

England just won the World Cup 2014, where do I report this bug?

Mine is just as bad - England got knocked out in the semi's to Slovakia!

I'm trying my best to ignore the game during the day as I prioritise work, but it my laptop sits there staring at me all day. It's so tempting! Second season and I've got Southampton to 4th in the league at the beginning of December. Looking ok at the moment, but I've just had my interview for my contract renewal and it didn't go well... they want me to sign players from Italy (I've bought none) and they're getting ****y about it.

However they've also got zero happiness for me not buying young players for the first team... despite me having Jedvaj and Bruma!

How does Jedvaj turn out to be?

Well I'm not even halfway through the second season so far, but I'm playing him in my first team - which is a bit bullish seeing as he's only 18. Apart from that, he's rated at 3 stars already, with the potential to turn into 4.5/5 stars, and his average rating is at about 7.40 so far.

Overall, I'm actually rather impressed with him. His attributes keep on climbing, and if he hits 2-3 attribute points in his defensive duties, he'll be an incredible defender. My long term plan is to play him alongside the Dutch regen I posted on the previous page.

I'm enjoying playing with Southampton as well. At Christmas in season 1 and currently 6th in the table. Only downside is Lambert doesn't respect me, so he might have to be flogged

Ha, I had an inconsequential first season as I'd played to March in two differetnsaves before having to start afresh, so I holiday'ed it through to March before picking up again.

I ended up playing a narrow 4-2-3-1, with Lambert playing as an Engache behind Osvaldo. Lambert scored 17 goals I think, with Osvaldo picking up just 5! Flogged Osvaldo for £10m to Real Madrid over the summer, and am now playing 4-4-2 with Shaw playing as a complete wing back on the left, Wanyama a ball winning midfielder alongside Schneiderlin an attacking central playmaker both in CM positions, with Oxlade-Chamberlin RM as a winger. Then I play an advanced left winger to act as an inside forward with Lambert (TM) and Rhodes (poacher) up front.

Lambert is on 13 goals out of 15, with Rhodes on 6 in 11. Shaw gets forward loads to support the inside forward, with Clyne playing rather defensively as a wing back. Overall it blends defense with a solid attacking unit, and seems to be paying off so far.

Sounds like a good system.

I'm playing 4-2-3-1 with wingers. I brought in Gaitan in on loan to play wide left and a chap from Benfica who's name escapes me to play wide right.

This might not be the best place to post this question. However....

I've pre-ordered FM14 for my PC. It will be activated via Steam.

I'm also looking at buying a Macbook. Do you guys know if I will be able to play FM14 through steam on the Mac? Or would I need to buy it again to do this?

Hopefully he is just as good in real life :p

You buy it once, you can play it on all platforms (via STEAM)

Tosh- With Southampton one of the boards requests is to sign players of the owners nationality. Is that Italian for Cortese or Swiss for the actual owner?

I can only speak for FM13, but I bought a PC version of that and activated it through steam and it let me use it on Mac too. Didn't have to buy another copy.

I have absolutely no idea, as I've signed neither Italians or Swiss, and the the board's happiness has bottomed out. I spent ages trying to figure it out too! In the end I went with Italian... but still signed no players.

Make sure, if you're doing well, that you ask for extra funds. I had £0 budget at Christmas, but am sat in 3rd so I asked for some cash and they gave me £18.5m!
