******* Official Football Manager 14 Thread *******

I think you need a really, really good striker to get results in this. I bought a Spanish 22 year old for my league 2 and he has scored 15 goals in 38 games. But he only has a 6.92 rating.

Soldado is outstanding in my second season with Spurs. Played 12 Scored 14 Assists 6.

Eriksen and Lamela behind him, unstoppable. If only they were really that good in real life ey?

Does anyone know how I can force FM2014 to run in full screen without using the option in Preferences? I've got it in windowed mode on my laptop, which cuts off the bottom part of the screen where the 'confirm' button would be.

Christmas update:

Manchester United need rebuilding, so looking to ship out the old and players that just aren't good enough.

Transfers out;

Anderson, Young, Macheda, Buttner, Hernandez & Evra were sold, while I loaned out as many other players as possible.

Playing a 4-3-3 rotating Rooney and Robin Van Persie up front.

Unfortunately Robin Van Persie just torn his hamstring which is 2-3 months out, Kagawa sprained his ankle and is out for 3 weeks in the last couple of matches.

Good news is Luke Shaw is almost fit again after an injury that has kept him out of the opening games :).

On a ten game winning streak in the League;

Through to play Tottenham at Old Trafford in the quarter final of the League Cup after thumping Arsenal 1-3 and then scraping through against Fulham 2-1.

Europe is going 'ok', unbeaten winning one and drawing two :).

Going well so far, scoring well from set pieces, Rooney and Robin Van Persie (7 goals in 9 in the League) are scoring well too, as are the wide players (Zaha, Valencia, Kagawa) and Cleverly has even scored one :eek:.

Defence is a bit leaky, but hopefully as the defence grows and settles down a bit it will improve, need more numbers in midfield (obviously) but have just got Fletcher back which helps, using Jones in midfield too this season.

The defence in terms of players is where I want it. Forwards are looking good although I want more quality on the flanks (upgrades on Valencia and Nani) and Midfield is desperately short of quality however that can be addressed in the summer.

Playing a possession based, passing game and have the best tackling and passing stats in the League so far :).

Will be moving on more older / poorer players at the end of the season as quite a few are out of contract.

I just started a new game as Man United, I am a fan but for some reason I have never played them before in Football Manager. I would sell Cleverley, I got £15m for him. You should look at James Ward-Prowse at Southampton and Marco Verratti at PSG, They are great long term players to replace to replace Carrick and Fletcher, I bought both for a total of £25m.

I sold Young and Nani then bought Oxlade-Chamberlain for £30m. I am trying to unsettle Pogba at the moment, He is unhappy at Juventus because they will not let him talk to me, They wanted £50m at first and so far I have got it down to £30m.

Playing a 4-2-2-2 seems to be working so far. :)

I quite like Cleverly, he always plays well under me. I wouldn't say he's first choice in the grand scheme of things, but he's an important player this season, as is Carrick, Fletcher, Fellani, Jones and Romero and to a lesser degree Giggs is playing his part.

I'm aware of all of these players but they come with high price tags and I'd like to replace Fletcher, Giggs and Carrick with some real quality, and then bring more youth through, so depending on how things are in January I might look to add a youngster.

There are a couple of players I forgot (:o) to sign on pre contracts that are really good, so I might have to spend a bit of money bringing them in over the summer as well as rebuilding the midfield and wide players.

Just starting the 2019/2020 season with my Premiership and Euro Champions Bradford City.

Just had 46 players (out of 97) called up for international duty including 9 England U-21s :)

One thing I have noticed playing both 13 and 14 is Man U seem to rapidly fall down the league and then slowly start to come back again, whilst its always Arsenal, Chelsea and City I seem to have the most difficulty in beating.

Just got Havant and Waterlooville into Champs from the Blue Square North!

I've done really well to get them up in 4 seasons. The only way I managed it however, was with serious investment. My club was taken over when I first started but the rich Russian owner has invested heavily. He's bought a new 10,000 seat stadium, upgraded all the facilities several time and has let me spend serious money every transfer window. I've got £10 million now in my first season of the Champs, but the biggest problem I have by far is my low reputation. I started out with no experience, so even though I can afford great players most of them refuse to join.

I walked League 2, and League 1 to be honest, but I think I will come unstuck a bit now.
