**Official Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H Discussion Thread**

Thanks as it ivybridge that bring out more heat than sandybridge. I ought to stick and staying with my current sandybridge i7 2700k @ 4.8GHz @ 1.320v and still cooling below 65C in the summer with silver arrow. I don't think it isn't worthy for me to upgrade to ivybridge knowing it will struggle at 4.8GHz by the hottest heat.

Yes you best wait till the next revision comes out :-)

I think Intel had the biggest mistake of ivybridge is overheating issues problem. I don't think they won't bother with new stepping D0 ivybridge to get a better cooling side. I was wondering myself "Why not put thermal compound inside the CPU chip ?"

hehehe - im using MS keyboard and mouse 5000 (wireless) have no problem since F8

Just put on the latest beta 9o, and a day into using it I'm now getting 'Power Surge on Hub Port' and it's telling me its on the USB 3.0 hub, which has nothing attached, and just to be sure I removed all USB devices physically from the pc and the message is still constantly there even after resetting it!

My Google-Fu suggests that it's the onboard hub that's faulty? Has anyone else had this issue? I'm going to revert the BIOS just in case it's the BETA that's the issue? And if not then it's my typical luck to get a faulty one (and can't get a replacement as the place where I got this from is out of stock with no ETA on a replacement!)

That was happening to me when I was initially setting up the new build with all the latest drivers. Updated the USB 3.0 drivers and it was saying that one of my rear 3.0 ports was surging every 30 seconds or so.

Was a ball ache to fix but I just had to keep reinstalling previous drivers until it stopped then update it again. Was really weird.

Using this board am I meant to see anything referring the VIA USB ports within the device manager...

...when I used the D3H motherboard it would also show the Eltron controller as well as the Intel one.

I assumed that I would also see a VIA one as well as the Intel with this board...?

Also has anyone had issues of the USB front ports sometimes not waking up from sleep..? Not all the time but just now and again.

I've had a small problem for a while now and I'm getting sick of it. Can anyone help? Basically, say 1 in 5 times I turn the PC on it gives me a boot failure message and the option to load defaults or enter bios. Normally I can just enter bios, hit exit and it will boot without changing any settings but I'd like to resolve why it's doing it!

Running F8. Basically default settings bar some things disabled (Audio, some of the cpu features).

I'm using samsung green ram overclocked to 2133 10/10/10/28 and in windows its fully stable. I've tried upping the dram voltage everytime it does this but that seems to cause it to happen more frequently!? Tried settings between 1.4 - 1.6

Got sick of it earlier and switched the ram back to default to see if it still happens or not but won't know for a week at least.

Don't remember this happening pre-F8 with the same ram overclock.

Also my ram is basically installed like this according to the manual: CPU :|:| (| = Ram, : = empty slot). This seems wrong as CPU-Z picks it up as slots 2/4 but the manual clearly states they are 1/2 and the Channel A timings appear to work for the RAM ?

my new build that i have only just made, has a problem, havent got my cooling loop set up yet so its on the stock cooler for now with everything set to default

ud5h
3770k
16 gig vengeance 1600mhz
kingston ssd
quadro 4000
corsair 750w psu
a wifi card
a dvd drive

thats it

it works fine, apart from the A0 error code on the board

but runs everything as normal.... apart from the 10 min interval bsod's

even if its just sitting doing nothing

the bios is only f4 so im going to update that first

but if that dosent fix it.... is this board just a pile of **** or something
