**Official Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H Discussion Thread**

anyone running the samsung greens on this board with above 1600 speed? please post settings, timings, imc, vtt, etc.

Just got mine up and running today.
1866 9-9-9-28-1t @ 1.45v a few hours stable in various tests.
2000 9-9-9-28-1t @ 1.475v atm, looks good so far.

VTT - 1.05v
IMC - 1.045v

I'm reading that they should be no more than 0.005v apart. I've no idea on the accuracy of this, but it did completely solve my cold boot and boot loop issues.

samsung greens run horribly on this board.

I know that people achieved 2200 and more on asus maximus or gene IV, but gigabyte sucks in this regard, even with new f10x bios.

2000 not running at all stable, not even with 1.2 vtt and 1.2 imc.

1800 is stable now with default voltages and 8-8-8-28 1T

The RAM is rated for 1600Mhz, thats all.

So is it the board or should you have got RAM rated for a higher speed instead?

you need to use the latest beta bios here,2666mhz is now possible down to much improved compatibility with samsung green memory

Leaning towards this board over the Asrock Extreme 6, this board is very cheap if I shop around.

Are greens a good choice for this board? No idea what speed ram I would need for a 4.2GHz 3570k. My Q6600 takes my current ram to 1440MHz though it's rated at 1600.

This looks like the best board for under £150 especially with the cooling and features it has, I like how they haven't erased the PCI slot.

Its an awesome board.

Great little sound chip, dualBIOS, lots of USB3.0 etc etc.

Yeah the dual bios is great, can test overclocks on both hehe. The USB3 isn't a big deal for me since my case uses an external connector for whatever reason Coolermaster thought it was a good idea. Sata 3 is great. I have an Audigy 2ZS which is why I wanted the PCI slot. Don't know how the onboard compares but don't expect it to be as good as a real card.

The onboard is certainly much better than other chips found on a lot of the other boards, but compared to a decent sound card it will still be beat.

If you didnt already have a good sound card then I would say try it and see what you reckon.

I think I have probably damaged my hearing when I was younger and stupider so can probably not tell the difference unless it's total rubbish onboard. I'm interested and will probably try out this onboard chip when I get it.

By the way, how comes your board is in the cupboard? I need it. :D

Wow great review thank you, I saw your UD5 TH review originally. I can't see any reason for me to get the UP5 TH over the UD5H ^^ not for £120 more. Does look fantastic though and the ferrite chokes look pimp :(.

Also, how does the LED connector for the heatsink work? Do you have to install LEDs or does it already have some? :s

Haha, seems a bit random, never seen anyone just attach LED to heat sink before. Guess it was going to be for something else and they just turned it into random LED socket.

They have just released a beta bios optimised for the Samsung greens but apparently it degrades performance of other ram types, they are now working on a release version that doesn't do this.

I never read any reasons as to why the 10x beta bios was pulled. I just saw that it had been replaced by the 10 version. Even though I asked I never got a response.
It seems to be running fine for me but I was just a little concerned to see it go MIA.

Iv'e got 16gb Corsair Dominator 1600mhz in dual channel setup. When Is set XMP or try to overclock them to 1800Mhz manually I get boot failure. Iv'e even manually set the RAM voltage to 1.65v and still wont boot. Am I doing something wrong or does this RAM not like overclocking?

Which model are the sticks and what version does it say on the sticks? Some memory chips clock better than others...

DDR3 IC Inquiry >> http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68811

Have you tried slacking the timings to say 10-10-10?

I would google your exact sticks for reviews, to see if people have tried clocking and with the versions you have, see if their is any differences etc.

Also maybe worth posting here in here >> http://forum.corsair.com/v3/forumdisplay.php?f=201
