Bad board the worst in 13 years...:(:mad:

Will do now bull now that i have tried everything, you know how much of a pain the .... it is to wait 2hours before you know if its worked !! :( Been at it since 11am!!

Tomorrow its RMA day see what they say, I cannot understand or believe it myself, its such a stupid bug/fault etc

Any donwloading is now switched off and i can chat all night no problems play games, stream anything not a problem but as soon as I start downloading watch the clock for that lock!! :(

How have you got your internet connected to the board? if its ethernet cable, theres two ports, tried both?

I use a usb wireless adapter as the main hub is downstairs!!!

I have tried 2 adapters and still the same problem, I have just got in touch with gigbyte about my problem!! See what they say?

Very strange bug thats for sure!! As everything comes up perfect on my PC drivers etc not a thing wrong, games play fine for hours, music, videos and streaming. Its a real head smasher !!!

And takes so long to know if its worked !!!! :(

Try forget wireless. And try long RJ45 ethernet cable in the back of Intel LAN (1Gb/s) and try it ? I hope you had a long ethernet cable (up to 25 metres)

I am not jumping through hoops, when I have never had this problem in the past 6 years and 3 PC`s later of being wireless its a bad board period!!!

Crap dont buy thats my 2p!!

I don't have time to read the full thread but but when downloading do you have enough space? if you have a drive with low space keeep an eye on the diskspace usage on that too even if you're saving to another drive. Not that it should make it the system freeze if it ran out of space though.

Could be HW or software really!
I've had a problem before copying a large file between two machines via a wireless router. Even after I later upgraded the PC that kept freezing and rebooting during the copy, it still occured. I put it down to a windows bug. When I used a piece of software to do the copy it worked fine, just failed when copying via Windows Explorer.

Back after 3 days in the jug for my profanity!! (strict is OC)

I have heard nothing from gigabyte, and I thought i had fixed it.
I deleted a lot of my steam games and thought I will re-download
them to check if its the bittorrent client i am using. 7 hours later
all files downloaded fine. I thought it must be bittorrent.

So I decided to use another torrent client uTorrent and all worked fine
way past the 2 hours of Bittorrent. Great I thought! but after 18 hours the
same thing LOCK. uTorrent works longer than Bittorrent but it still locks.

I think it is software or temperature related on this board as I have gone though everything.
As i have said the worst board ever and good luck to the people who have had no trouble with this
board but I am at the end of my tether with it and have had enough.

New board will be purchased as soon as I can afford it!!

There is nothing wrong with the board, this board is superb. I think u need to sort out some issues somewhere but I do believe it nothing to do with your board of that downloading lock. Why u need a new board ? Just RMA it.

Just one update, for the following utility.

  • Easytune6 B12.0912.1 *NEW* >> Click Here IMPORTANT: Please remove current / earlier version of EasyTune6 before installing this, otherwise Easytune6 will no longer function permenently!

Dung beetle board thats the only conclusion I can come up with!!!

Its .... and bugged!! :(

As for people saying RMA, what do I do for PC in the mean time? Not been without a computer for 28years, I aint going cold turkey over a motherboard!

End of November am getting an ASUS or Asrock, I have had both in the past and never had any trouble.

The size of this thread alone should be warning enough for people to stay away from it!!
