**Official Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H Discussion Thread**

You probably need to raise the Intel turbo limits from stock 35 to your oc multi of 42,c states are fine enabled

Oh ok I will try that.

From some OC guides I have read all they ever do is raise the multiplier. In my case from 35 to 42 so was wondering why you have to raise each core's turbo.

I found what the problem was causing cpuz from not showing the overclocked Core Speed

Believe it or not it was Realtemp v3.70

For some reason when this software was running cpuz would throttle right down to cpu stock settings.

I did a quick google on this and noticed there were some bugs with 3.70 version.

It took me a lot of installing and uninstalling to find the problem but am happy I have. :D

F15T bios version seem ok so far but Windows 8 had no sound at all after installed, had to change the analog back panel from green to blue (very odd) Windows 7 sound work on the green back panel but Windows 8 work on the blue back panel.

Sounds like something retarded is going on with the Realtek software, is there a new version to what you have at their site?

Hi,

I'm planning on buying this motherboard sometime in the next couple of weeks for my next build which will be:

i5-3570k
UD5H
Samsung 830 128gb
16Gb 1600mhz Corsair XMS3
CM Hyper Evo

I have a couple questions:

I plan on buying a graphics card later on down the road since I dont do much gaming currently (just cs 1.6 which im sure the hd4000 will be enough for). I was wondering if there are any problems that I should be aware of with the onboard graphics. I plan on using a 24" Samsung monitor 1920x1200 @60hz.

Also I want to install windows 8 straight off the bat. Are there any driver issues anything not working properly in other any reason not to install w8?

Are there any other issues that i should be aware of? I started reading the thread in reverse and noticed itchy was having problems which he managed to solve but I havent gotten too far in so is there anything else?

I also have an old creative x fi xtrememusic from my old build. Is it worth using because Ive read that onboard sound nowadays is fine nowadays?

Thanks for the help!

No problems with windows 8 here. There is a message that pops up on the upgrade about USB3 not working but the drivers are in windows 8 anyway according to Intel.

The sound on the UD5 is very good, worth testing both to see what you like but I'd not bother with the X-Fi personally unless I was chasing every CPU cycle for performance (I assume the X-Fi will use less CPU processing?).

Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H

Purchased this board last week having problems with the Intel network controller on board, installed windows 7 64bit, installed drivers from CD and when restarting the Intel controller failed to start in the device manager so no network connection. if i then restart the computer it will restart and work fine. this is near enough every time i start the computer and this is with the drivers from both the CD, from gigabyte website and Intels website . Any ideas ?

No unwanted motherboard stand offs shorting out underneath?
Could also try slightly loosening motherboard mounting screws in particular around the rear i/o or nearest the lan chip.
Any newer bios available.
If none of the above makes any difference, does it still have a problem if you test the board outside of the case on a non conductive surface?
If it still has probs I'd inspect the cpu socket pins whilst I had the board out.
