how come u got rid or your up5 nelly? i would have had it off you:D
The totally sad thing is, I nearly e-mailed you to see if you would have been interested, but thought with it being about 4+ months from new tech, doubt you would have been bothered.

I got the UP7 for £200 - one day deal, so can't grumble at that - wasn't really worth switching, but always wanted to own a top end motherboard - will stick with UP7's if they launch quick enough. :)

Smells like rubbish to me. Degradation occurs due to the read/write operations themselves not the speed at which they're done, else all low speed drives would have shorter lifetimes.

I currently have 2 x GTX 480's installed in an SLi set up but because of the bracket on the bottom graphics card I am unable to plug anything into the legacy PCI slot.

Anyone else come across this. Not much I can do I suppose

Have you guys had any problems with the usb3 headers got mine plugged into one of the bottom ports working fine then now any device I plug in is not found tried the other bottom port still the same then tried the 3rd on at the side and working tried the two at the bottom still same issue using the gigabyte adaptor port supplied with the board

^^^^ USB 3 ports have always been a little dodgy on this board or my Z77 D3H. Sometimes devices are found and sometimes not. Sometimes they are found within device manager but then not shown as being available to use. Often the problem is when the PC is resumed from S3 sleep.
A reboot sorts mine out.

yeah gigabyte board are the worse for USB 3 ports, terrible issues ongoing and last time I was updated tomtom live (new map updated) and it bricked my device because USB port kept going on and off itself and lose the map. But lucky me, I managed to get my tomtom restored back from my backup on my laptop. Phew!

^^^ If I am flashing my tablet or phone etc there is no way that I would use a USB 3 port on either of my Gigabyte boards. I make sure that I only use the Intel USB 2 ports for anything as important as that.

It can be bad enough using the USB 3 ports to copy stuff over to my USB 3 ported external hard drive, when trying to establish a connection - especially after using S3 sleep.
