***Official GTX 670 thread***

Should this card go back then you reckon ? .. Also, if the Mem is X4 then surely mine is only running at around 750mhz ??

The 600 series can have slightly different boost clocks even of the same brand, there's nothing wrong with your card, the memory clocks are fine too, different software has different ways of representing memory clocks, 3005 doubled is 6010 which is what your memory will be running at.

Cool, thanks for your help guys !

Wow the PCB looks in proportion on that setup!

What temps are you getting with the shaman strapped too it?

47c ;)
Sadly I can't keep the TY140 in the build this little demon is going into, I'm expecting mid 60's from the Scythe 12mm fan that's going to squeeze under the Shaman.

Overclockers still seem to be packing these cards badly, I've had 2 670s delivered this week and both had brown tape stuck to both ends of the box and I had to be very careful not to rip the box or lose serial number stickers.

Anyone else having issues? The 2nd card came today so doesn't appear that anyone has listened to the earlier thread feedback.

Happened to me as well when I ordered a 7970. Didnt notice the brown tape and the serial number got ripped due to the excitement of tearing packages

Mine too, and I was assured that it'd been sorted, we've all been lied too, not happy, I have pics too, I was about to write an official complaint but a dear friend died recently so I've been busy, my 10p amd hats had better protection than my £365 gfx card!!

Spent another £200 on HDDs from another supplier afterwards because I couldn't trust OCUK, very sad :(

Upload pics, this is something I want to see! I mean how can they keep managing to stick brown tape all over the box.

This thread has grown fast, maybe someone can confirm this information:
  • There are 2 types of 670, one with a short pcb and another the same size as the 680
  • The longer card requires 2x8, the shorter uses 1x6+1x8
  • The longer card may overclock better.
  • Reference cooler is rather cheap and noisy
  • Custom cooler option provides better cooling and lower noise

All that being said, is there a particular card among those available that looks better than the rest? Ive never heard of KA2 and it has a lower warranty so I wouldn't consider buying that one.

I am thinking either the Asus DirectCU II or Gigabyte Windforce 3X might be a good choice, opinions?

Try rubbing some white spirit over the brown parcel tape. At work, we have to clear varnish a lot of doors, skirting, architraves, stair parts etc. Quite often theyll be strapped together with parcel tape. We use white spirit to soften the tape and make it easier to remove. May help to protect the serial no sticker when you remove the tape.

I like the palit jetstream even though it has the short pcb. If I was to order another I'd more than likely go for that.

1)True
2)The Gigabyte and KA2 both are 8+6 the Asus is 6+6
3)Overclocking still seems to be the luck of the draw, PCB isn't making a huge difference
4)Reference cooler is pretty poor and the fan has an annoying sound signature
5)Custom cooler versions are definitely cooler/quieter.

Not personally experienced the DirectCU II but the Windforce is much better than reference, isn't actually audible until at least 55% and that's only if I mute the PC sound and even when it is audible it's not an annoying sound signature, just whooshing of air.
