***Official GTX 670 thread***

Indeed, It is quite frustrating having all this cooling potential and other than noise it being of zero benefit. A very small part of me wants to get rid and get another 7970 just for the challenge, but as it is I'm going to sit tight and see what a custom bios can bring, as it stands 8+6pin is also pointless on the 670 as without a voltage increase these cards are hardly utilising those extra power phases. But on the other side of the coin, with a healthy overclock the 670 is beating quite a few 7970's and 680's.

I'm inclined to think that the Asus DCUII 7970 with a water block slapped on for V.S. a 670 WF with a water block is easily the better performer. The Asus is actually £20 cheaper right now..

I'm not the only one who see's this, right? Am I imagining this?

You are very correct sir, if AMD get the 79xx crossfire drivers sorted and it turns out I'm not a huge fan of 3D vision then its a possibility I may swap back to AMD. That DCUII is a steal at £350.

Anyone else running this card on BF3 ?

I mainly purchased this card for that game, I'm running 1920x1080 on ultra and on maps like Gulf of Oman fps is dipping to under 50 regularly. Yes it's still above 30 but I can see it start to stutter below 50 and it's bugging me.

Thought I'd have no probs with this card ??

Are you using any AA?, use fxaa in the control panel instead and you'll boost your fps considerably, BF3 is still quite a demanding game on ultra.

Whats your full settings baz?

Very rarely dip below 80fps with custom ultra, I'll double check my settings in a bit but I'm sure its something along the lines of all ultra with 2x msaa, 16x af, sbao. Will double check, but I've noticed with the majority of setups in BF3 if you pile on heaps of AA it cripples the frame rate.

4x msaa and hbao will deliver a severe hit on performance, with sli gtx 470's, (slightly faster than 670) i can run ultra but msaa is a no go. The fps will drop into the 40's.

No 670 windforce for me today sadly.

I use ultra plus 4xaa, so turned right up in other words. Maybe I'll have to forget about the aa side of BF3. To be honest it's not a big difference without it.

whats the sense of water on a card with locked voltage?

If voltages become unlocked, then the 6+8 pin cards will shine.
