***Official GTX 670 thread***

to compare to the ocuk heaven thread make sure its

heaven 3.0
tessellation normal
1920x1080
4aa
4af
shaders high
full screen

but yeah its a bit low, completely stock 670 with no overclock should get around 65 with those settings, I'd expect the jetstream to be slightly over 70.

My 670 seems to have become unusable for games all of a sudden. The "boost clock"/Power saver whatever is causing my Core clock to be 536Mhz when playing Skyrim maxed out at 1080p the game is like watching a slide show.

GPU Usage is at 100% yet the Core is setting itself at about 2/5 of its capability.

0.98 on the voltage :| What the hell is wrong with my card?

This is ridiculous, I think I might swap fence and send this card back on DSR and get myself a 7970 at least I know it will stick to what I want.

Which 670, have you checked your temps? Probably a driver issue.

Rerand using this and:

FPS 59
Score 1487
min fps 26.3
max 67

GPUz logging shows following:

GPU Core clock 1150.2
Mem clock 1527.4
Temp never goes above 75c
Max fan speed 54%

Nvidia need to either make this new addition solid or make it in the next driver update so you can turn it on and off because ive seen a quite a few problems although the majority are running fine.

KFA2 EX OC , I'm in a rush so can't run that for ever to prove but yeh... I thought it had been choppy all morning and I finally owned GPUZ and Afterburner and saw this. What the hell? Voltage is really low as well...

I only have 6 days left to DSR it so I'm think I will, I don't see why my driver would suddenly fall apart after a week of having it either.

Your card is downclocked (obviously, voltage gets lowered to match clock speed) Try to figure it out before DSR, no point rushing into things. First things first, reinstall the drivers and see if it fixes it.

Completely agree, its annoying me when I play some games while the card is overclocked, the clocks stay at 384mhz, then jump to 758mhz when needed causing a slide show in the process. When not overclocked it starts at 980mhz, then stutters its way up-to 1189mhz when needed. -note this is on less demanding games, higher end games (BF3 etc...) will stay at the highest clock all the time and run smooth.

I'm going to have to get in touch with nvidia to see if this boost feature can be removed in favour of a permanent clock in the future as I can see this getting very annoying. With 7970 pricing on OC editions rocketing south its making them appealing, even if that means not bothering with 3D which was my main intention for the 670.

I shouldn't have to do this sort of **** with a £360 card, it's making this card perform terribly.

What happens when my DSR time restraint passes and I find out that it is going to be a problem that plagues this card.

driver issues happen, maybe you messed around with settings unintentionally or didn't install them right in the first place? it only takes a few minutes to reinstall drivers so why not try?

Combine the fact my card now wants to down clock itself to something of the 5000 series equivalent as well as it constantly changing its boost clock during games... driver issue or not this card specifically is a pile of ****. (Drivers are up to date)

nvidia really need to allow you to turn off the boost clock feature, I've spent £360 on a card, I don't particularly care about paying an extra £1 on my electricity bill at the end of the month.
