***Official GTX 670 thread***

The EVGA cards are such a fail, all short PCBs.

Long PCBs available so far:

Zotac + crappy cooler, 6+6 pin

Asus + awesome cooler, 6+6 pin, but rubbish customer service

Gigabyte + KFA2 - full length, awesome coolers, 8+6 pins..... Ugly blue PCBs :(

Wait a minute, wth ... .****! What no, crappy?

CARP! :(

Galaxy are good. They are KFA2 in Europe. Uk rma base. I have a kfa2 570 which has been really good! I will be getting the kfa reference 670 as it has the high air flow bracket.

mind posting a link to the high air flow bracket ... was trying to find info on it and I couldnt.

Are people really put off by the aesthetics of a short board, or are there other reasons to go for the long versions?...

Also, what is the difference between 6x6 and 6x8 pin.

I really want one of these, and it will probably come down to cost in the end, but I don't want a duff card for the sake of a few quid.

Hahaha very very sly bhavv :p

The 6+8 pin 680 PCB cards in theory should have higher oc headroom, though I think Gibbo said ref cards can push near 1200mhz

Overclocking. Short board = 1200 Mhz, long board = 1300 Mhz. Long board plus 8+6 pins = 1350 Mhz.

*Not guaranteed, but possible.

Yea PNY give their reference GTX 680 cards the 'XLR8 Signature edition' nomenclature, ehat a cheap marketting trick too because I thought there was something special about them, but nope, just a reference card.

Yep the KFA2 EX OC and Gigabyte are both even boosting to 1200MHz without even touching the clock speeds and they seem to hit 1300MHz without much fuss, but higher than 1300MHz is only possible on a good Gigabyte or KFA2 EX OC from the testing I've done. They are without a doubt the two best cards, not only that they also have the best cooling solutions too. :)

And please dont rip me off for one of them :(

Whats the RRP of the 670 guys?I know the etailers will add on the usual launch premium but what price have nVidia set?Wasn't the 680 supposed to be £360 at launch?
Anyway hope all new 670 owners enjoy their cards, seem to be very close to 680's if the reviews can be believed.

yea for me to depends on the price, just cancelled my order for asus dcII 7970 which was £359 if the windforce or KFA2 is more then £350 then i ll just wait for a better deal or get it from somewhere else!

^ agree, anymore than this and it's into 7970s territory and they will have overclock just as well to remain a consideration.

do you know what, I wouldn't bank on it, I reckon the short and long board by itself won't make that much of a difference, and across the board you'll still be down to the vagaries of the silicon lottery (I would imagine boards like the windforce are using specifically hand picked chips to justify the extra money - otherwise how gutted would you be to pay all that extra for a windforce only to find out you top out at 1150)

definitely don't buy the 670 phantom though as gainward never bin their chips so you it's entirely down to luck with them
