***Official GTX 670 thread***

Thanks for all the info Gibbo, still sold on the 3x :)

Is there truth behind the thermal throttle on the 680 and 670? As I'm thinking pushing 1350 may just be possible under water ;)

Yes, but Ive not had these cards thermal throttle once, they just dont get hot enough with the uprated air coolers. :)

Gibbo you know how much we all love you...

What's the chances of a 1 day special offer reduced price card? :p

So where are these cards? Its now May 10th and i need to choose between a 670 or the 7950. I cant find any reviews or anything right now. Its a joke that we are kept waiting around

Have you not seen that cracking 7950 on special offer this week for £290? Its got an excellent cooler, you could probably hit 1200mhz with it and its going to be around £60 cheaper than a 670, what are you waiting for?

I've just seen one POV GTX 670 come up in a shop here in Netherlands, 312 pounds oooh :D If they bring out 4GB version that would be nice !

More power supply and capacitators = more stability with higher clocks.

yes, but I'm willing to bet it's largely down to the silicon lottery - you might get a short card that will do 1250 or you might get a long card that can only do 1150... only the most expensive cards like the windforce are likely to have cherry picked GK104's that give you a high certainty of having a "good" clocker

Think im gona end up getting an MSI 7950 for the 3gb ram and overclock the nuts off it. I want my next card to last me at least 2 years. My 6870 has done me well for the past 19 months but with only 1gb ram seems to be not cutting it anymore. Especially when im getting a second 1080p monitor soon. Suppose it depends on the 670 prices.

Oh i saw this before i went to bed last night..

Including relevant sales tax over there as well?

Yes. I can't post a link though as it would get me banned. Sent you link via trust :)

They are even cheaper in Germany/Poland I've just noticed :)

Well im waiting around a bit as rumours are AMD will drop 79xx again after this 670 release and i need to throw my 6870 on ebay too so its gona be next week sometime when i have the money to buy. Spent so much on my computer in the last 6 months with moving to 1155 and now im just needing the GPU upgrade. I paid £251 for my 2700k and find it hard to justify paying much more than that for a GPU.. maybe £320 tops but thats it :)
