***Official GTX 670 thread***

Need some help please, I'm a noob when it comes to these things.

First time buying a Nvidia card and decided to get a new Windforce 3x.

I just ran the Heaven benchmark on following settings..

@ 1680x1050?
4x AA

result was

FPS:
68.3
Scores:
1720
Min FPS:
10.6
Max FPS:
135.7

Is that any good?

My other question is how do I OC the card? Do I do this in the CP under device settings or do I need to use other software? I've also noticed that there is no Windforce software when I installed the card?

The settings I have now say..

Graphics clock - 1411 mhz
memory clock - 3284 mhz
processor clock - 2822 mhz

If somebody could just give me some steps on what I need to do that would be much appreciated.

Thanks for reading.

Should be higher, what are the rest of the heaven settings? AF and Tessellation?

What is your processor?

Render:
direct3d11
Mode:
1680x1050 4xAA fullscreen
Shaders:
high
Textures:
high
Filter:
trilinear
Anisotropy:
4x
Occlusion:
enabled
Refraction:
enabled
Volumetric:
enabled
Tessellation:
normal

running a i7 950 3.07

I think at those settings a stock 670 should be getting 75fps. Try restarting heaven and run again with same settings, sometimes it can give low fps for some reason which restarting fixes.

Batman: Arkham City

*Physx setting is 'normal'

Stock run:

Run at 1350/7128

Its also worth noting that during the benchmarking power consumption only peaked at around 58%. I would think for the substance of this bench I could probably push 1400mhz.

I'm also getting bad drops at the start of every scene, possibly a driver issue, those drops into the 20's are not helping the average.

damn thats a very nice stock boost
1300 must be guaranteed on that card

1300+ is still down to getting lucky. Most people will only get a chip capable of >1250 <1300 MHz on the custom cards.

KFA2 EX OC's stock boost is 1215 Mhz, and mine only OCs to 1250 MHz, along with someone else in this thread who is unable to get over 1250 on a gigabyte windforce.

Yea looks like it.

my windforce is also crappy. 1260 and it crashed during unigine scene loop in ~30mins

Still havent touched memory.

I wouldn't really worry about the extra 100 MHz, 1250 is still stupidly fast on these.

But we have a windforce that's wosre than my KFA2 at last :D.

Without touching the men I can do 1260, for max memory ocs I have to use 1250 GPU.

Is this normal for a stock 670 boosting @ 1084?

My cpu is running @ 4.4

Seems quite low to me, you guys seem to be getting 80fps, can an extra 200mhz on the core really net you that much?

I hate benchmarking, I never even get close to people online :(
