Official iPad (2012 model) Accessories Thread

Guys, which pens do you use? I have ignited my artistic streak with paper and really need a better pen than the boxwave, is the wacom bamboo the only option

Hard plastic snap case are okay until it gets dirty.

1 - dust will get inside between the case and iPad. This is inevitable. And when you come to clean it like the 4th time, something will snap or crack.

2 - As above, they crack from the stress of being put on and off.

Why take the cover off at all, I don't plan on taking my IPad 3 out of it's Lexington case until I upgrade so it does not matter if there is dust inside the back of the case because I will never see it.

anyone used or will use a case with built-in keyboard ?
something like this

or this

other options is to go for hard case for back(am looking in to ones suggested by Raymond) and smart cover.

Incipio cases look smart too.

Don't you just hate it when people conveniently leave out the part of a post (last sentence re belkin, it is clear plastic) just to start an argument with you?

I'm after a "pouch" for my iPad. Basically something to keep is enclosed for when I'm out and about.

Something with a very nice soft fabric inside! Anyone got any ideas/pictures of some "pouches".

Something like that, doesn't have to have a stand nor does it have to be leather. Basically something for it to slip in and out of. I have the smart case for stand use...

Pouch-wise, I use a neoprene shocksock for my iPhone and love it. Protects it from knocks and bangs and scratches but takes no time to slip the phone out when I want to use it. Didn't want a fixed case as I often put the phone in the cradle in the car so needed something that was easy to remove.

I thus decided to get one for my iPad2 but the problem was that it was too snug a fit and the iPad wouldn't fit with the smart cover attached, as the hinges snagged when trying to slide it in. Aside from that it was decent, but the neoprene doesn't offer much protection from sharp objects impacting the screen when it's in there without the smart cover on so I ditched it.

Now using a Belkin slip-case with a zipper which is ostensibly for netbooks but fits the iPad perfectly.

Got my Colcasac last week, can't fault it, inside is soft as can be. I'm careful with my gear so just wanted a sleeve to throw a bare iPad in whilst I carry It around in my bag.

What is it call? The case, not the store. Lol

Hasn't the greatest of names, you'll find it as: g-hub geniuscover black carbon fibre style (limited edition) case

Nice cover though, once closed up it's like surrounding the ipad in the bindings of a hardback book in terms of firmness and protection. There's a mm of vertical movement if you insist on pushing the ipad but the velcro tab used to hug the ipad inside its pouch on the horizontal edges holds mine firm, unlike what one of the negative reviews was saying about theirs.

I'm new to ipads so just grabbed it because it was cheap (a tenner currently) but didn't look it, and seemed popular with everyone who had been trying them, and it provides the regular 'smart cover' features and no issues with the sleep magnets.

Since getting it, the first two of my longer-term ipad owning friends have asked for links for where to get it and/or bought one as well. They do it in black or white for the carbon fibre style (white looks interesting but a bit odd, no telling how well it'll hold off from colour tarnishing and staining either).

If there's a downside to it, with this case style, cloths tend to just push the dust around inside the bezel frame as you can't wipe right off the edge - minor annoyance. With the normal smart cover since it doesn't add a padded frame/bezel around the pad it is easier to wipe any dust right off the edge.

Lol yeah I have the same problem :)
Get around it easily enough though by folding the smart cover in half before folding it round to the back

I can't complain though at this price! :D

mine's got a split in the 'leather' on the hinge between back case and smart cover after only a week. #buycheapbuytwice i guess

Purchased this smart cover for £6

Even came in the Apple packaging.

What's the durability of smart covers like?

It may have come in very convincing packaging but it won't be a genuine Apple item. That's not to say it won't work just as well though - it may well do.

I think the durability of the covers, the genuine ones at least, is pretty good to be honest. Mine's still like new after a few months now.

Right, I tried that jammylizard case and didnt have any luck with it, can anyone recommend something similar?

Same here, it was rubbish!

I'm holding out for the ion CarbonCover for iPad 3 which is due for release mid April. I have the ion CarbonCover for my iPad 2 and it's fantastic... they are quite expensive, but worth it in my opinion.

This is the iPad 2 version http://www.ion-factory.com/carboncover.php so will be identical to this... just for the new iPad.

My Incipio Smart Feather arrived this morning - no problems clearing customs so got a bargain. Very happy with the protection and the Smart Cover feels more solid as well.

No idea but I don't see why not - the Smart Feather is just to protect the back. As long as the Smart Cover dimensions are the same it shouldn't be a problem.
