Insanity Versus 8v8 Update:

Just to update you all, I may have found a way to get this working. It will work in a very simular way to the first game's version.

Will keep you all posted. May have a test beta going at some point very soon...

Insanity Versus server now running. I will be testing it out shortly.

Insanity Versus 8v8 Change List:

General:

-8 survivor slots now available
-8 Infected slots now available
-1st 8 players host a lobby and force connect to OcUK 6
-Search Key changed to sv_search_key ocuk8v8
-Tank spawn vaiation added

Survivors
-Have more health when revived from incap
-Heal and revive faster
-Expert Fire Damage is ON!

Infected:
-Witch health 5x higher than normal
-Hunter limit is now 4
-Hunter claw damage increased
-Smoker limit is now 2
-Smoker tongue is stronger and has more range
-jockey limit is now 2
-jockey run speed increased
-jockeys now have slightly more health
-Charger has more health
-Charger does more damage
-Boomer can now move and boom and the vomit is easier to get on more survivors
-Tank punches do more damage
-Tank has more health
-Tank runs faster

Fixes to do in the future:
-Improve Tank(s) - Possible ways = multiple tank spawns, instant incap on punch (expert mode), etc...
-Fix as many bugs as possible

To make an 8v8 game set the search key to ocuk8v8 or use the mm force command to connect to the IP: 94.23.222.136:29033. Please remove this IP from any automatic connections for standard games as otherwise you will have extra survivors etc... Then create a lobby as normal and after the first 8 players have joined then start the game. Wait ingame for the other players to connect (connect 94.23.222.136:29033 in console should work) and once the server is full you should be able to play 8v8.

Join the 8vs8 game, to then be kicked from the server. Then try to rejoin and just get the message "full game" :(

Yeh sorry, if i can find a way to leave the server in versus mode I will, unfortunately I can't so I need to use a lobby to connect to it in versus mode, which in turn means the server needs to be empty.

Please only join in future when you see 8 players already there (from lobby).

Generally seems to be running very well however :D
 
Yeh the physical server crashed twice, so stopped all l4d2 servers for now. OcUK 3,4 and 7 are all independant though so are still running.

Frenchtart is looking into it. Will let you all know when OcUK 1,2,5+6 are back up again.
 
I joined for about the 8v8 for about 5 minutes, seemed to be full of people just randomly wandering around with no scope for teamplay. Didn't know most of them either. Won't be playing 8v8 if its like that.

We'll have to set up a game with a password for one night only so that known decent players can have a chance to really test out 8v8...

With regards to people running off etc, server admins have the right to warn, then kick anyone who repeatedly runs off and disregards teamwork. Yes 8v8 is less serious that 4v4, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't at least try. The server rules on OcUK 6 are exactly the same as OcUK 1-5 and 7.

PS. OcUK 1-7 are all running atm. As is Insanity Versus.

OcUK 3 + 4 are now running Insanity Versus and now have a new search key, sv_search_key ocuklink. For normal games please use the old search key (ocuk).

Insanity Versus Changes (from motd):

Insanity Versus:

General:
-Variable Tank spawn added
-Up to 2 hunters can spawn at the same time

Survivors:
-Survivors now revive and heal faster
-Fire does more damage

Infected:
-Ghost speed Increased
-Witch has double health
-Boomer Vomit delay removed
-Boomer can vomit when moving
-Smoker tongue range increased slightly, has more health and drags faster
-Smoker cloud now does damage
-Hunter claw does more damage
-Jockeys move faster and do more damage when riding
-Charges Charge further and do more max damage
-Tanks take longer to get frustrated
-Tanks take longer to Burn
-Tanks remain stunned for slightly less time when stunned by explosion
-Tanks health changed
-2 tanks now appear at finale at a time

The old Insanity Versus server will be stopped soon.

With regards to jockey damage, I'll probably change it back tbh.

With smoker cloud it's purely experimental. Will see what happens. Please not as well that if you play coop on these servers it may be harder than usual :p
 
OcUK 3+4 Insanity Versus Update:

General:
-Medpacks spawn in safe room only, outside replaced with pills
-Defibulators are disabled

Infected:
-Jockey damge put back on normal, damage delay removed
-Smoker Cloud Damage removed
-Tank health bug should now be fixed

May add cevolink back onto other ocuk servers if more people want it on standard games.
 
Just to make it easier to answer:

1/ if i were to get one, is it possible to set it up so its private untill we join and choose to make it public?
2/ and if i make little tweaks, i.e tank spawns with a mini horde would people still find it if they chose to join game? and would achievements still work?
3/ and lastly. would it be possible to make infected bots fill in gaps of any missing players on the infect team?

1/ Yes. Just set up a search key and only people who know that key can get on unless the lobby leader knows it.

2/ Yes.

3/ Yes. You need sourcemod and a plugin to do this though.
