**** Official LG G4 Discussion Thread ****

I've had an occasional vibrating/rattling type sound coming from the earpiece. It sounds like the speaker is blown but the fact that it doesn't happen all the time debunks that theory.

Has anyone else had similar issues? Even though it is intermittent, should I just send it back to Amazon? What happens if when they test it it doesn't fault, does it matter? I've only had the phone 5/6 days...

I get a rattling sometimes when the phone rings/vibrates it is the power button on the back. If I hold it then it stops.

Not sure if that could be due to the same thing.

Don't know if it's the same thing but sometimes on calls when listening to people the sound is really tinny , I suppose like a blown out speaker. After a while it can go back to normal or just stay like it.

Saying this it seems to be when I ring someone with a "Windows" phone. Wouldn't of thought that would be the course of it though.

That sounds quite similar to what happens to mine. I think I'm just going to send it back tomorrow. I feel a bit petty considering that it is quite infrequent, but it's a bit unacceptable for a flagship phone really and in my experience every annoying niggle with a smartphone seems to get worse with time.

I'm just glad I bought it from Amazon. I suppose now the only question is whether I get another g4 or whether I get an S6? Wrong place to ask I suppose. It's a question of whether style and the smaller footprint out way the awesomeness of having a removable battery and sd cards. It's probably going to be another G4, it is an immense phone...

I have no issues with mine. Could just be a faulty phone which does happen. I would get Amazon to exchange it and hopefully all will be ok.

Does anyone know when marshmallow for the G4 is likely to be available in the UK? I am looking forward to the battery life improvements, the fixing of the radio signal active glitch and the the full sd card and internal system memory integration support. I'm going to buy a high speed 64gb micro sd card so that I can shoot in raw and download to my hearts content...

Going to order myself a G4 tomorrow from Vodafone as an upgrade from my Galaxy S5. I was debating staying in "the Galaxy", but lack of MicroSD slot put me off.

I preferred the G4 to the Sony Z5 - any other contenders or should I pull the trigger on the G4?

have a look at sim only deals too as you can buy the G4 for £299 now sim free, may work out cheaper for you?

great choice btw, think the G4 is still one of the best phones of 2015, some may say it has a better camera than the S6 (check youtube comparisons) and it also has Marshmallow now too.

Ah, I've still got some months left with Vodafone, so would need to get one that I could plug my existing SIM in for at least the next few months before getting a cheap SIM-only deal. Where's the G4 at £299 from?

Go to hotukdeals and search for g4. You will see :)

Really want to root my G4 and put a custom rom onto it but i don't want to loose VoLTE and 800Mhz access on Three.

I was gutted when I found out that the international sim free g4 doesn't support voLTE. Only the 3 handsets do.

How much of am improvement does it give mate?

It makes a hell of a difference. The sheer range of 800Mhz is very impressive, if you go onto the three coverage checker and make sure to select G4 as your device then click the 4G tab you'll see the 800 coverage. I've found that the coverage map is actually less than what i really get.

The mast is in Llandudno (red locator) and the other red locator when the 800 signal finally dropped off. Btw, it didn't loosing it at all until than point. :p

Oh and VoLTE is nice too, seems to just work as it should. You could trying flashing the Three UK G4 firmware onto your G4: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-lg-g4-stock-firmware-to-stock-kdz-t3107848

Found it, thanks. Because I'm upgrading from VF so early, even if I bought it SIM-free, I'd still have to pay my line rental, so it works out cheaper over the 24 months to upgrade.

I've had an absolute nightmare with VF over the past 48hrs. They can be so difficult.
