***** Official OcUK Twitch List - Important Information in the Opening Post *****

I've just started Twitch streaming properly the last week. I've done it before but only for a very short time to make sure that my OBS configuration worked and that my microphone was configured correctly. Now I also have a web cam on my stream as well so people can see my ugly face :).

I'd really appreciate some followers as I'm trying to build up my stream. You can follow me here:

https://www.twitch.tv/gamingwithcromulent

and my streaming schedule can be found here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VXEaoSNiql9A1vbYcxJa7Fz0Uv9racdKLrZnsOJjr00/edit?usp=sharing

I'll go through this thread and try and follow as many people as possible.

I was looking for the this thread lol :)

Past 700 now in just over 40 days which is insane :)

Really getting good numbers everynight now, and having moved clan's I stream pretty much every night.

Crom I'll follow you when I get home bud.

How's everyone doing in there streams?

Valk is just blowing up its awesoem to watch it grow :)

Awesome to hear you have 700 followers in 40 days. I hope I can get that many in a short period of time. Hopefully by sticking to a regular schedule I'll be able to pull in more viewers and hopefully get them to follow me. Although I'm not actually all that sure what to do when the chat is quiet so I just talk to myself about what I am doing.

Thanks for following me :). I'll follow back in you link your stream. I'd be interested to see what you do. Although I'm on a weird sleeping schedule which is why I stream really early in the morning.

Edit: As a newbie to streaming is it better to stay on Twitch or move to something like YouTube Gaming where there is less competition? At the moment I'm perfectly happy with Twitch. Just wondering what other peoples thoughts are?

Signal cheers for the follow and dropping by the land of fail mate.

Crom - Sorry I should eb more clear.

I started the year on just under 200 followers, Since then I have streamed more and more, got more noticed and now I have 710 followers (Cheers signal for being 710!!)

I'm seeing on average about 3-4 new followers per stream, and I'm in a awesome streamer community, the guys in my chat which see's a normal 20-40 people there are all epic.

Its the last 2 months were my stream has just gone nuts - I've grown over 200+ new followers int hat time which was unheard fo for me before.

Seem's once you pass 500 the growth picks up, and then every next 500 it grows even quicker.

Daft as it seem's I'm getting good solid viewer numbers comparable to streamers with double my follower number :)

That is still pretty awesome news. I just followed you by the way. I'll try and watch your stream if I get a chance. I've never played World of Tanks so I'm curious to see what it is like.

I got a really good deal on a Logitech C920 web cam for £30 from a popular rain forest website. I think it adds something to the stream being able to see who is playing the game so hopefully that will increase the number of people who follow over the next few weeks.

I'm always open to suggestions for my stream so if you manage to pop in one morning then feel free to chat away :). If you have any suggestions for strategy games then I'm all ears as well.

I also just found a website called Social Blade which looks pretty good for tracking the progress of your stream over time and seeing how many extra followers and views you get each day.

It was the same for me when I started properly streaming, It was slow than all over a sudden I had a small group which would come back and watch everytime I was streaming, It was pretty cool.

Unfortunately I just haven't got the motivation to start it back up, I'm up at 6am and in work by 7am, finish work at 5pm and don't get home until 6pm, have my dinner, finally jump on my PC about 7pm which at that point is mostly Youtube cause I'm too tired to get in the mood for BF1 or anything competitive, or recently playing Final Fantasy 15 on my other monitor and then bed at around 10.30/11pm.

I just don't have the energy or the time to get back into it which is a shame as I loved doing it.

No worries dude, What goes around comes around, decent stream from what I saw carry on the good work.

Stupid newbie question incoming but what is the deal with playing music in the background of your stream? I subscribe to Tidal for my music streaming service and have a lot of music saved in it and I'd like to play some music in the background while I play. Will Twitch ban me if I do that?

I've seen loads of other streamers playing music in the background so I was just wondering what the rules were for that?

Well you are supposed to have a license to play any kind of copyrighted music to other people, Twitch will mute your VOD is there is copyrighted music on it or they have received a complaint.
Like most things in life , everyone does it most people don't have a problem when doing it but you could in a small percentage get sued for doing it. Anyone who says it's legal to do it is basically telling you porky pies.

Ah, OK. Thanks for the reply. It is probably not worth the hassle to do it then. I'll just use in-game music then. Most of the time I am talking anyway so there isn't that much silence when I am streaming.

Edit: I'm such a newbie. I didn't realise you had to click on the update button on the dashboard to change your stream title and the game you are playing :). Oh well. Lesson learnt. Maybe I'll get some more followers now that they know what game I am playing :p.

Lol - it was a nice game that you were playing though fella.

In terms of music, I do play it through song request on Nightbot.

Its not great, but its some more interaction for viewers.

Thanks for popping into my stream the other day. Was good to see you.

I'll look into Nightbot. It sounds quite interesting. Having music would be nice as well although I'd rather choose it myself :).

Had an awesome stream this morning. I had 8 viewers and got 3 follows and people were talking to me in chat about Elder Scrolls Online and giving me hints and tips which was cool. I took down quite a few notes based on what they were saying.

Really looking forward to doing more streams now. Unfortunately I can't stream tomorrow but I should be able to stream on Friday morning again. Might reach level 10 in Elder Scrolls Online if I do that and then I'll be able to do dungeons with people which will be way more interesting to watch.

So I had a Twitch stream on Friday and I had about 6 disconnects through out the stream so all of my viewers obviously left. So I decided to switch broadband provider back to Virgin Media and went with their top end package of 200mbps down and 20mbps up with no traffic management. That should work really well for streaming as when I was on Virgin Media the last time I had absolutely no problems with my broadband internet.

So I've decided not to do any streams until my new Virgin Media internet has been installed. I'll just be hurting my stream if I do a stream and people come in and see me disconnecting all the time. So I guess my next stream will be on Friday the 16th of December at 9am. Hopefully it'll work out well :).
