*** Official Prey (2017) Thread ***

Anyone else think the game could have done without this item:

The mimic detector upgrade for the psychoscope? I know I don't have to use it but it takes away the suspense having the ability to scan for them

Just returned from my space walk and watched my video - suit repair kits seem to be in short supply, will I find a plan to be able to craft them before long? At present my suit integrity is down to 5 and have no kits left...

There are many engineer units around to fix it for you. I only ever used the kit once.

Without saying to much, you will want to play it again after you finish it, without doing what you did.

to quote rocky "its not over, till its over"!!!

Think I am nearing the end now, its been really good , just one annoyance so far

I was expecting multiple endings when the quests about escaping rather than blowing the station up came along, so I was disappointed that when I actually got into the escape pod there was no ending cutscene or anything like that, just dumps you back to the load saved game screen, guess that means there arent alternative endings

This just find an engineering operator, main place to find them is machine yard (I think that's the name) but there are other areas.

Ok thanks, I guess I haven't come across those yet. Do I have to repair said engineer units in the first instance? I ask because I have seen a lot of various machines I have the option to repair but haven't tried it yet...

Nope. Press a button and they are replicated :)

Seems you are in the first few hours of the game if not seen an engineer yet :p

Surprised at see graphics complaints, I should have this myself by end of week so only seen videos for now but on them I wouldn't say looks awful, plus it's gameplay is getting constant praise surely that's more important anyway

People got to complain about something right?

Nothing bad about the graphics, they just are not cutting edge and that is all.

Seems a might have been too earlier to harshly critique the game after 2 hours of play. I didn't realise that I was trying to enter areas with extremely hard enemies far too early. I've dropped the difficulty down and now I'm 10 hours in and enjoying it far more. Glad to see a few more types of enemies appearing and I quite like the scanning mechanic.

Loving the game. This is exactly the type of gameplay I like. Taking me time doing all the objectives :)

Can see myself easily playing their 2-3 times :D

Certainly better than Deus Ex Mankind Divided :)

Mankind Divided took me 70 hours, errrrm.
I think Prey will be shorter.
And I would say I like the two games on par, one one hand Prey has somewhat better gamedesign, but I am really not a fan of Morgan Yu not speaking, while Jensen was awesome. And as much as I enjoy the sidequests here, they were also stronger in MD.
But both games are awesome and I am just glad they exist. Too bad they don't sell.

Different strokes and all that but I like Prey a lot more. I thought MD was a massive disappointment and only clocked 20 hours. Gameplay was a step up from HR but the Story and characters were a massive letdown for me and that's pretty key in a Deus Ex game. It was a solid (read: 'meh') game in its own right but a far cry from what I expect from a DE game.

I liked the game play in Deus Ex: MD, was not a fan of the locale due to it not matching deus ex, but gameplay was damn fun. Problem was the story telling did not live up to my expectation which ruined the experience a bit.

With Prey I have no expectations for story so not really let down. Story could be better, but it does the job for me. Overall as a game I rate Prey higher.

Yeah, though I spent about 50 or so hours on my first playthough and over 100 total in that game. But I agree, story could have been so much better. It needed better story and longer main mission and it would have been much better for me.
