*** Official Prey (2017) Thread ***

Maybe I'm playing this wrong too then. I'm the same as Reppyboyo. Quite late in the game, surrounded by enemies, low ammo and no more recyclables left (I pick up everything including banana peel and paper).

Should I be able to use the environment more? Or should I be sneaking past and not fighting at all?

The turrets don't last long enough as I used to have fun with them.

I have something like 30 Medpacks in my inventory, I don't use Alien powers so didn't need to waste Neuromods there. I don't really use the grenades much either.

I'll do an Alien powers playthrough next time.

Made at as far as going outside to head to the Arboretum with a load of new baddies en route. Got spanked so wondering if I need to leave this section alone for a while and go back to complete internal stuff first? Concerned that the respawning bad guys inside the facility would kill me quicker than trying to make tit to Arboretum?

Looks like I will be holding of on this as yet another PC game on release that has issues with missing/broken graphical effects i.e. screen space reflections, you have to turn it off/on every time you restart the game to have it properly activate and even then the setting is broken as when it is properly on you just get black artifacts everywhere where light bounces off....

Good job once again Bethesada.

I am just happy they made a great game to be honest. It can be played easily 2-3 times. I have completed it once, will do again once I get my RX Vega :D

By then they likely would have solved any issues. But going forward I will just wait 6 months before buying and get games much cheaper with bugs fixed.

I can't play SP games more than once these days, once I complete it, I never touch it again :p Unless it is a truly special game.....

Just ****** me of so much PC gaming these days, always have to wait months now just to be able to play the game as it was meant to be played on day 1 by which time I have lost interest.

Yeah. Best thing is to try and be 6 months behind. Sure you miss out on posting and sharing on forums, but you save money and get a optimised games with less bugs.

Pretty sure you will want to play Prey at least a second time to get to enjoy all the abilities and enjoy a different play style.

I'm not too bothered about posting/sharing on forums, for me it is more just losing interest, same goes for films, see a trailer, get hyped about it and then lose interest a few weeks later and just end up watching it years later on blu ray :p

Perhaps... will have to see, I've not got very far in, just got to the lobby so hard to say if it will keep my full attention, good thing is that it does seem very much like bioshock....

I do not associate it with bioshock much myself. I think Prey is better than that game anyway. I hope it sells well and they make a sequel :)

I'm about 19.7 hours in according to Steam. I've restored the elevator in the arboretum, killed my first nightmare, and gained access to the crew quarters. I'm having a hard time approximating how far I am in terms of progression!

I'm at the same point and was wondering the same thing.

I'm a bit further but also struggling as to where I am in the game.
I've also got no bullets, no health packs, no recycle grenades with no idea where the nearest fabricator is and 3 electricity powered black things in the same room as me. Turrets are also killing me dead because I've got 2 alien powers.

I played on normal and always had 10+ med packs and plenty ammo. One should use the wrench sometimes no? Mimics go down in 3 hits, never waste bullets on them :p

I'm playing on Hard but might have to go to Normal because the lack of gear, my lack of skill and constantly dying is making me not want to play anymore.

This is why I never play on hard, I play games to have fun, not to get irritated. I only go higher difficulty if I am finding the game easy :)

This game on first playthrough seems very nicely balanced on Normal difficulty imo.

Also I used F5 a lot to quick save before going in a new room :p

The game is more than manageable on the hard difficulty setting! I'm pretty methodical though. I found that if you use the impact calibration and combat focus abilities, the wrench becomes a force to be reckoned with!

Think i've gone wrong somewhere, about 12hrs in.

1 of the main missions is now to go to the reactor - which i'm led to believe is quite near the end of the game ?

But i still haven't cleared the lift in the Arboretum and everything is in lock down so i can't travel back.

I've got a load of side missions still active, plus all the external airlocks are 'locked' and can't enter through them either.

Confused

Finished it and I loved it. What a great game. I'm going to have to play through it again though as I played most of it without using the alien powers and just got the hang of them towards the end. I feel a full "magic" playthrough coming on.

Also, every time I see Morgans mate I think Gabe Newell!
