Can't seem to get into this, not got a clue, got the gloo gun, but can't get into the keycode bit on the left (got the dead woman on top), and its got a flashing case in, that im presuming i can pick up, and also, i can't repair the thing that comes up with the spanner tightening a nut icon, picked up the neromod, and went for engineer, thinking that would do it, but still won't let me repair, comes up items 4/6 in red, so im presuming i havn't got enough to repair it yet, so all i can do is go to the exit and travel, which io don't want to do, as want this thing repaired, and want the case from the keycode room. :(

keep at it, it gets more intuitive. I went engineer first too and had the same

There will be plenty of time to unlock and repair anything you can't do yet later - the game will have you travelling back and forth through and between areas as the game progresses so you don't need to worry about missing anything by not repairing or hacking something right now. Just relax and go with the flow for now...

Right, thanks, i'll persevere :p

Also, it's one of those games where there is numerous ways to go about it.

I was stuck a few areas back and came here to ask for help.( Got stuck without ammo)

Managed to kill the baddies without any obvious form of attack by using my brain ;)

Made it to the Trauma Centre, but man that fiery phantoms tough, keeps killing me :(
I got stuck at this part too. For me it was the games biggest difficulty spike. Took me umpteen attempts. I can't remember now how I got past it in the end - you can usually use the environment for some form of advantage but I don't recall any specifics for the trauma centre. Remember you do additional damage if you hit them undetected so that may be an option, hit then run and hide. Sometimes getting up high can help with getting in some cheeky hits too although again, I don't know if there is anywhere in the Trauma centre you can do that. I do remember using some of the explosives in that part...

Turrets. Wait till it wanders off then set 1 or 2 up, it will destroy them and wander off, repair them maybe a couple of times and they will have taken its health down enough for you to finish it

same - I have used turrets till a lot further in the game (still am). they provide nice early warning systems, bullet sponges as well but start to get very wimpy

Gave it another go, and still getting mullered off that bugger in the Trauma Centre :(, so i decided to go elsewhere, and i found my office, where i also found the Recycler and the Fabricator machine, which i worked out, that all that paper, and all that other stuff i pick up, i could pop into the Recycler, then into the Fabricator to make stuff, so i was topping up my gloos and my medkits :p, i also found the pistol too, so i can go back to matey in the Trauma, and ave another go at him :D

I found that hard as well. I think it's by design. It's early on in the game and 'matey' is way over powered for you at that point in the game. But soon after you get a load of stuff and the game opens up for you.

The trauma centre? Isn't that the fiery phantom guy? If I'm thinking of the right place, I don't think you need to kill it. IIRC, I just snuck past it and back out the first time I went there (and then came back and killed it later on).

He sure is :(

Yeah thats him, ill be going back later too to give him a kicking (i hope :D).

Reminds me of Deus Ex, where you have to pick up those Neuromods to upgrade your skills.

Are you sticking to human skills, or alien as well? I played nearly two-thirds of the game human only and found it tough. Then gave in and spent loads of spare mods on alien powers and it became much, much easier (too easy really).

Yes whilst a lot of people said it reminded them of the Bioshock games I didn't feel the resemblance at, it reminded me more of Deus Ex.

Well, the Bioshock and the Deus Ex games have their roots in System Shock and Looking Glass Studios/Warren Spector so there are similarities.

The setting probably makes a lot of people think of System Shock/Bioshock since these games were all set on environments gone wrong isolated from Earth/the surface world, but imo Prey lacks the depth of both System Shock (1 and 2) and the original Deus Ex and in terms of gameplay and mechanics I can see why you'd put it more in the rebooted Deus Ex mould (DEHR/DEMD).

I can't see a resemblance to Bioshock either.

Starting to get into it now, those repair kits you find can be used to repair stuff, so i went back to where you get the gloo gun from, and i repaired the gravity lift thing, so i got up to the 2nd floor :D, now finding loads of stuff to pick up, but running out of space :( :p

Oh, and i managed to kill matey! :D
