!!**Official RAGE Thread**!!

I was bummed with the laser attachment for the authority mg, would be nice to actually see the laser dot appear on enemies, instead it just disappears a few inches after the end of the barrel :(

^^ titaniumx3- lol was simply at the statement of "appreciate the scenery", as if it is going to add significant playtime to the game:p

I know that the game looks stunning in places, and i am willing to ignore some of the low quality textures(although i do think they get in the way and are sometimes impossible to ignore). My frustrations with the game are really only to do with the gameplay elements such as all of the invisible walls/samey locations etc. I can live with a few bad textures:)

Just done the abandoned distillery quest, i really enjoy the shooting parts, i think they are excellent, it just makes me a bit frustrated that although the game is good, with a little more care it could be something very special indeed! I think that is the main thing i will remember from the game, that it had so much potential but just fell slightly short imo.

I actually think a dlc which just adds some random quests would be a decent idea for this game, something like adding some quests to the jobs boards or something you come across whilst exploring.

I have to agree there, I can see what they were trying for but the execution doesn't quite get there.

Yeah it just acts as an upgrade to reduce the spread of the gun which is a little disappointing, though I can't imagine you'd be able to see the dot properly on enemies. Really isn't much point using it till you get that. Once you get ARs stabilizer it has the same spread as the standard AMG so you may as well use that till the laser sight is available.

Played it for a about 3 hours yesterday, got about 6 in total now. Enjoying it a lot more now that I've got the performance nailed. I've done the dead city mission and the Mutant Bash TV quests. Great fun.

Does this game feel very like Bioshock to anyone else? Was it made using the sam devs or engine? Even the animations are the same - remember the splicers dragging their hooks along the floor then bouncing off walls? I've seen mutants doing that in RAGE.

It makes me really want to go and play Bioshock :D

Does anybody else get horrific screen tearing with this game? I've tried playing around with Vsync but it just defaults itself back to 'off' resulting in the screen tear coming back. I know that's supposed to be a sign of poor performance but my rig doesn't appear to break a sweat at any point. Is there any way to force Vsync to stay on?

Help :(

I just got this today on DVD. I install it as normal and register the key to steam and what not, it goes through all the DVD's seemingly installing, but then after Disc 3, Steam is still downloading like 20GB of data ?!

Just trying a reinstall as we speak but anybody have any other suggestions ?

Edit: Reinstalled and same as before, only 7% installed and downloading the rest of the game :/

Yes, Nvidia (I assume) Control Panel. If you manualy add the Rage.exe to the application settings you will find it is set to Force V-synch Off; change it to application controlled and then the in-game settings will work.

I am near the end now so it doesn't matter a great deal, but can you set it so that you can use a controller for the racing/driving and not for anything else? I mean could i run over to the vehicle with kb/m and then junp in and instantly switch to controller?

Yep, this is exactly what I did and it works very well. Just enable controller in the options and that's it (in doing so it doesn't disable keyboard or mouse).

You might want to disable the rumble though, mine vibrated off the desk when I switch back to keyboard. The Xbox controller prompts remain as well.

I keep turning the joypad off in settings everytime I go inside as I hate the conslol button prompts when it's enabled.

Really enjoying this. In the shrouded bunker and this is what I was waiting for, plenty of shooting, classic id software style. The driving bits are ok, but I just wanna shoot things. :D

Loads of potential, epic in some parts with some awesome environmental design. Glad I played through it but the ending, what a load of crapola. I had a ton of weapons saved up for some massive badass that never came. :(

Yeah, me too...just finished it. Had a massive arsenal built up which cost me a fortune in Subway town. Gotta love those exploding darts :)

In spite of the limitations technically for some people and in the gameplay I thought it was very enjoyable, looked amazing at times and a nice way to put in the time before the daddy arrives next week..will prob play through & do some more side missions than I skipped over originally but feel I got my £20 worth.
