*** Official Ryzen Owners Thread ***

its good to see that people actually interested in amd now and willing to help it improve more. i still havent touched any overclocking on my ryzen 1600, undecuded if should wait until gaurantee is up or take the punt and do it.
if did and any has with ax370 gaming 5 board and dark pro 16gb 3200 ram can they recommend the settings if possible

What cooler are you using? firstly update to the latest BIOS, get the ram stable at 3200mhz via the DOCP (XMP) Profile, might need a voltage boost to 1.4v, then once thats done change the cpu multi to 4.0ghz, change the cpu voltage to 1.40v, see if it will boot, if it does, then go back to BIOS and drop the CPU Voltage to 1.39 and try booting again, keep repeating this til it wont boot anymore. Once you have a voltage locked in for the CPU and its booting in ok, you will want to test the stability of it, for me personally, i run Cinebench, 3D Mark stufff and then game on it, if its fine i leave it alone at that point ;) others will recommend running all sorts of stress tests overnight, thats entirely upto you :)

I bought a 1700X from the same retailer a month or so back and it was launch stock. Despatched from Italy too, despite being ordered directly from them on the UK site. They must have stock to clear of the more expensive eight-core variants.
I guess it makes sense that the more expensive and older chips will have higher stock levels, even though the chips they are still selling are apparently from very old batches. Still, AMD have clearly got healthy stock levels and it's a better situation than not having any available at all, *cough* Intel *cough*. ;)

I ended up sending it back as the big price drop hit right after and I got a 1600 for £136 instead. That one was much more recent (week 36, but sadly not one of the ones with eight cores enabled).
I think those were from a very specific batch. I'm not even sure if any of them have ended up in the UK.

hi

cooler is cooler master masterliquid 240 lite, bios is on latest version, ram is at 3200 xmp and 1.35vv for ram so far

It's printed on the IHS, so there's no way to know without taking the cooler off unfortunately.

Do i have anything to be concerned about with this guys? should i check just to make sure i don't have one with that seg bug?

Well, i have been on 1402 for months and months now solid as a rock with 4 x8gig sticks of Hynix ram at 3200. None of the bios's since then has been anywhere near stable for my setup, so have always flashed back to 1402.
I decided to give 3008 Beta a try this morning.............................wow is all i can say. Ram just works from XMP settings, which is a first because i have always had to input ram settings manually. My 1700 never clocked above 3.8Ghz OCCT AVX stable, it now does 3.85Ghz OCCT stable. The cold boot issue seems to have finally been solved, which is defo a bonus.
Obviously i'm still testing at the moment, but if this stays like this i would defo consider 3008 or it's final official release version a keeper.

Just to add a bit to the above. After being well impressed with the stability 0f 3008 beta, i decided to take the plunge and bought 4x8gig sticks of 8Pack's B-Die. As many of you know, the CH6 has a set of the Stilts ram presets for 2x8Gig for 3200 up to 3600.
Tested and run all the 3200 presets for my 4x8Gig sticks with no problem at all. This afternoon started testing 3333, so far so good as you can see.
Last night, just to see if it worked, i loaded and booted to Windows at 3600. If it passes at 3333 on both the safe and the fast pre-sets i'm looking forward to trying it out higher.
To be honest, i didn't think the Pre-Sets would work with 4x8Gig sticks but obviously the 3008 bios has been worked on much much better than any previous bios.
Bellow is where i'm at at the moment ;)

Using my Ryzen system and steam link together well although I do need to hard wire it. Too many glitches over wireless with racing games.

Finally got a better graphics card to go with it for a while. A brand new R9 270x double dissappation that somehow my father-in-law managed to pick up for $5 ! Hell of a step up from my borrowed 4870 lol.

I have only set the ram to 3200 but still got a blue screen at the desktop the other day. Ryzen can be a PITA sometimes lol.
Try increasing the ram voltage to 1.4 if you haven't already...should solve the stability issues

morning guys if anyone can post some screen shots to help it be most helpful

im currently running my ryzen 5 1600 ax370 gamming 5 dark pro 16gb 3200mhz ram with a gigabyte windforece 7950 and cooler master masterliquid 240 lite aio cooler

i have set my xmp to profile 1 3200 settings @ 1.35 volts. but am unsure what to set cpu at and the other settings.

overclocking is a new thing for me, but after watching a overclockers twitch the other night and asking the question does overclocking invalid the warranty and they said no its doesn't. I would like to attempt it, but I know a few own the same board as me but it finding a suitable settings for mine.

have a good day all

*disclaimer - probably guff :)

IF that is true I have a feeling AMD will announce we need a new motherboard even though they said they want to support AM4 until 2020 which would be able to house upcoming/future CPU's.

I have zero faith in companies to be consumer friendly or offer upgrade paths.

If it is true i would be gobsmacked lol, just can't see the next Ryzen's hitting 5Ghz.
Whatever they do hit though i fully 100% expect them to work on the current mobo's. AMD have a lot of history on this very matter and when they have said in the past they will use a particular platform during the life of a CPU, they have delivered on that promise. I fully expect them to release new mobo's though to take advantage of new Tech added on, but the cpu's themselves will still work in current mobo's.

4.05ghz :p

No, i think the February release will go up to about 4.1Ghz/4.2Ghz. If the latest bios release is anything to go by, the current CPU's have only just been given a bios that may release their full potential. I'm guessing there will be another bios release before February.

Are you saying I should try to push my CPU further than it's current 3.8Ghz?

A few months back when I overclocked it nothing not even 1.45v would allow me to run 3.9ghz and beyond.

I still cant get my ram stable at 3200Mhz, despite it improving to the point I can boot to windows at 3200Mhz now but not pass testing.

The answer to your questions depends if your mobo is a CH6 and depends if you have flashed the bios to 3008 Beta ?
