******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

I got out this morning but sadly no missions showing, seems to be affecting many people though.

I usually getting myself put in prison each big update to see if they've improved it, tbh it was running a lot smoother even with 10x the number of bodies and NPCs around.

There are bugs, serious bugs, but i'll say this for it being a fresh launch with a huge tech update, it didn't completely fall over like 3.18 did, server meshing actually seems to work quite well and it has made a real difference with the performance of the game, in that sense its really not bad at all and its moved it a giant leap toward to the MMO its promised to be, real progress.

Because the player count has increased 5X - 6X even with 2 systems now i'm much more frequently seeing other people, people seem to be everywhere, even despite this the server tick rate is much improved so the NPC's move around, have conversations among themselves and react to you.

It needs more work, but it has solid foundations, it'll get polished up in the new year.

Next.... probably Nyx and base building.

This is the best patch I've ever played in terms of performance, stability and content.

Despite 2/3 of the content broken due to bugs, it's been a joy.

And this is with loads of people jumping on. I'm hugely impressed.

CIG should nuke 3.24. This patch is good enough to be the only live patch.

Apparently the missions are now working as the team did some work yesterday!

I don't get these content creators sometimes, i do think Space Tomato is one of the best but like most of them he says some weird **** right after reading out what CR said about 4.0 SM that being serval servers per system he turns round hand says he believes 2 servers per system and 500 players, on top of that he is Evocati, he knows 2 servers for a system the server regions are still quite large and with that don't run as well as they currently do.

Someone in his chat immediately corrected him, 5 servers in each system. before it went live it was 6:4:500 - 600, i believe that's how it went live, again he should know this.
They have this weird habit of being over cautious in everything they say, like 5 years to 1.0, IE 2030, 4 years after SQ42, common sense says that's not going to work, for one this game doesn't have anything like 5 years of good will left in it, especially with a progress rate that slow.
I get that they are working to try and set expectations but in reality it just looks mental to anyone waiting in the wings for this, 20 year development time.
It shouldn't take 5 years to get it to 1.0, its 5 systems, 3 of which are done, and then its a case of adding base building, crafting, tying all the systems together so they are parts of story mission loops, and optimising / bug fixing, they will push for 2026 along side SQ42, 24 months from now.

They just need to stop making predictions of when this game is out, its not helpful whatever they say.

Some of them have been struggling content wise since CIG slowed down the regular show episodes etc. Some thrive like SMB who can do his own thing, but others have to pick on every tiny detail and try to manufacture drama from it.

Pyro really has exposed the douchenozzles.

There are players that just spend their time flying around planets looking to blow up any parked ship they see, for no other reason than to just blow it up.
It ain't piracy, it ain't PvP. It's just sad behaviour.

Only saw some of your stream but is that why you was walking towards the outpost? You looked stranded

Yeah, we were stranded. Jake eventually rescued me.

In the meantime, there were two separate ships (a Guardian and a Scorpius) that came back and forth every now and then to check if there was any easy target they could attack on the ground.
It's so lame.

Can't wait until a rep system comes in and we can start laying bounties on the idiots heads.

Personally I'm still punting around Stanton.

I absolutely love the Guardian and Guardian QI, got CCUs but I might hold off a few months to see how hard they nerf it - you can tell it's going to happen. It's actually quite tricky to pilot on keyboard/mouse as it's so twitchy (at least for me). but the living quarters etc on the guardians is brilliant tbh. even nerfs to health and speed would likely still have me CCUing to one.

Forgot Imperator subs gets me a little time with any new ships.

Yes rep v2 will help with addressin some of petey's issues plus having better AI defenses.

If you have a neg rep and shoot random players in a outpost, the game should spawn multiple npc's of the given faction that is in charge of that outpost to fend off the idiots.

Would be good if you could add a list to the game that allowed you to track where these guys were until you got them back, can only add them if they've killed you and they are remove from the list when you get revenge..

Even if it just said they were online..

Remember playing Ultima Online, first day a guy killed me when I was mining, literally had no idea how to even do combat, I'd been playing about 20mins. Took me 18 months to get revenge but it was sweet :D

Maybe one of the gankers from Elite.
SC really need to sort out their application of space laws if it’s an issue. FD made a right hash of it

With the density of players we now have people treating it like a Rust server is going to become a lot more common, the thing is once something like that takes hold even slightly it escalates, everyone starts killing on sight as a defensive measure because experience tells them to trust no one.

Star Citizen isn't Rust, people don't play it for that so all it takes is a few to kill it.

You can go to cargo centre and get a larger version of it for bigger containers or use an ATLS if you have one (big cargo loading mech suit you can get)

I don't know if auto load/unloading works at the moment, last time I tried it I didn't seem to have the option at the terminals.

It's already too late...

Nah, they're not PvP'ers and I don't subscribe to the logic of not going to Pyro because of a few sociopathic bellends. That's the kind of thing they say, and they're not keeping me out.

Do you get the same level of griefing in SC as elite?

In elite - people just used to do some dumb **** then unplug their network cable to avoid any consequences - it was a joke.
