******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

So I've just had a good 3 hours playing in crusader; no crashes, no real latency issues, lots of fun. Played with the free Aurora LN and crewed a connie and two of my ships; the vanguard and freelancer. Need to learn how to shoot better while strafing around, but I really enjoyed it. Its pretty cool to get the whole local grid thing in the connie and other multi-crew ships; walking around it while it was firing at other ships.

I'm looking forward to more content and starting to play with the moons when they introduce that.

Could someone please help me with a quick question...?

I got a Star Citizen AMD reward in November 2015 (won the monthly raffle thing that AMD do) - does that still work in terms of granting access to Star Citizen/Sq42 or is it just for the special edition ship within the game?

Yeah it still works but you don't get Squadron 42 with it any more.

Just Star Citizen and the Mustang Omega

Righto :) - I've already got a full Sq42/SC account package and just wanted to know what the code entitled you to before I gave it away ;). (I already had all of the 'interesting' games I could choose from the AMD list - so thought I'd get some that would be worthwhile to give away)

Anyone got a cheap base package inc game they can sell. Got a friend who wants in but is a bit tight for cash

Decisions, decisions. Do I slap you now or wait until you come on TS :p

Drop me a PM or get me on TS at some point mate. I've a couple but upgraded one to an LN (for testing purposes lol)

Might have buybacks as an option too if they are giftable, haven't really been keeping track of that side since I stopped selling on the GM.

I've got a scout LTI buypack for 31.85 Euros (euros because its cheaper for me in New Zealand due to exchange rate) which could be used if you don't get a better offer... Is the original one I backed in 2013 so one of the kickstarter options... but you might want to find out if they're giftable or not.

It wont be until Feb 14th that you wouldnt be able to buy them directly, anyway.

If you want, i can purchase a package for you which you'd be able to buy for cost. I'd just buy it, melt it the next day, and then if you ever wanted it then i can unmelt it using cash and gift it across to you/your friend.
Any of us can do that really, i happen to have just shy of $200 credit, so makes no difference to me, requires nothing but about 30sec of my time. I already have a melted LN on account from ages back, but i want that just in case. But adding more wouldnt be an issue.

[edit - i just did 2x LN, 2x Mustang Alpha packages. $45 each. The LN is worth $5 more as a ship though. It'll be handy to help others in the future if need be. If nobody ever wants them, makes no difference to me]

I melted my Reclaimer down, thats going to be my 1 credit buy-back in about 1yrs time, but now i know i can melt it and bring it back at will, i'll be using my credit to access ships i can see & use now.
I'd already bought a $20 Tali Base to Sabre CCU, that got applied the other day. Plus i had a $0 Redeemer to Vanguard, so i bought a CCU for the P72 to Redeemer CCU and used both to end up at the Vanguard (gotta take advantage of those $0 CCUs for limited availability ships).

So i think that cost me about $220 for the Vanguard, and dropping the Tali Base meant i had no need for the 2x$25 cargo modules.
It leaves me with enough to buy the Reliant Kore, Tana (skirmisher) and Sen (researcher) and check them out when they go on sale.
They're not something i'd be keeping (i already have my finial ship plan laid out) but a mate likes them so will be nice to have a look at them in-hangar and at Crusader. The Kore seems likely to be in-hangar with 2.2, i think flyable is probably 2.3 at best.

@floatindolphin On the off chance that you're still reading these threads...

Someone on Reddit is asking about this post from Sandi, with you and Tony Wills.
It somewhat implies your a F42 studio "Foundry 42 Derby! ;)", but im guessing that (as the emoticon suggests) was just a joke?

I've mentioned as such, and your involvement etc, but never thought anything of it, as its an odd way to make an official statement etc.

Hi, I've just replied to the Reddit thread :)

Really starting to get to grips with the flight mechanic now I've swapped roll for strafe left/right; much easier to navigate. Still miss most of my shots but i'm finding it easier to track and turn without blacking/redding out.

Love the vanguard, its the sort of ship I was looking for. Still got my Freelancer MIS and Cutlass Blue, but I think for general combat missions the vanguard might be my primary ship... Will see how the blue handles and is protected.

Do most of you use gimbals? I know you can lock them, but does that then give you the lead pip that doesn't follow the mouse? I might try non-gimballed as that might seem more natural, but I'm not sure how well they've done that bit...

Different weapons give different pips but sometimes if you remove the gimbal mount and shove a fixed weapon on they'll share a pip, seems to be a case of mix and match but on the Vanguard I found locking the gimbal gave me two but they were reasonably close together.

Ill pop on tonight Halfmad to discuss :)

Might be on - got visitors tonight but shall try to be on around 9pm mate.
