******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

I'm getting around 30fps with my oc'd 290 but its not actually running at full frequency so isn't at 100% load - any ideas please ?

its running at 900-910 vs its actual overclock of 1090

If it's in the persistent universe test area the it's server related and nothing you can do to improve it, give electronic access, free fly a try as it should be silky smooth in comparison.

Watched that gameplay video earlier and I got to say I'm impressed, I honestly thought that this game was just going to disappear.

Going to keep a closer eye on it now.

Yeah, I have been deeply sceptical, but after seeing that planetary landing Video I have just upgraded to a Carrack. You know, I think he may just pull it off. :)

for the referrer they get 5K UEC in the game which is the ingame credits to purchase stuff (not aUEC which is the alpha credits earned in game at the moment)... These are the same credits that will be used in the live version so will not be wiped.

from the website:

The Star Citizen Recruitment Program allows you to invite friends to join the Star Citizen Project. Anyone registering with your personal code will automatically get 5,000 UEC to spend in Voyager Direct, and whenever one of your recruits becomes an active player by purchasing a Game Package (with minimum value of $40 USD), you will get a Recruitment Point. These Points unlock rewards automatically.

quick question, if I buy a ship now for say £100, when the game comes out does my ship still exist or will it all be wiped and you have to pay again for the full game , ie are you just paying development costs ?

thanks

Yeah you will get to keep any ship(s) you pledge for the final release, as well as during the alpha/beta.

thanks , glad to hear it , all I need todo now is suss out if the xbox controller is good enough or to get some rudders for my ch flight stick.

You could certainly play the game with a pad, they were doing so during the livestream on Friday (to a lot of viewers annoyance, typically) but i'd imagine a handful of keyboard shortcuts will still be required cos theres just not enough buttons to go without.

For simplicity, i can imagine a pad is fine, not sure how it is for controlling and being competitive when need be.

Jeeze, the Gamescom free-fly ends tonight, they'd normally give it full 10 days (Fri-Mon+1wk) but it seems they've done Wed-Mon which is a bit weak really.
