******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

indeed Harry, its so hard waiting on this game. For me at the moment, it's just not quite there for me to sink time into it, I think 3.0 will be when I fully get on board with it all.

I flip/flop between keyboard/mouse, HOTAS and Throttle + mouse (Roccat tyon). Have tried gameplay which is OK too but I've never been that good with them.

Keyboard and mouse will likely win I think for me unless a decent new HOTAS comes out, got little faith in Saitek to produce anything worth buying at the moment.

I fly with K&M but bought a thrust master warthog for this. Have some MFG crosswinds in order but if I don't like them il order a custom inverted LH warthog stick for dual stick instead. Have a feeling il be at a disadvantage however with anything other than K&M due to gimbals working how they do.

Yeah @DONOHUE07 they are, one was supposed to come out a while ago I believe but the company they partnered with IIRC Caused them more than a fair share of issues.

Believe another is in the making.

Partnered with Saitek/Madcatz but Logitech have since bought Saitek out which means the deal is up in the air. Many are hoping they can change it to Thrustmaster.

Was looking at giving this another go and also ED.

I have a Saitek Cyborg Evo (not HOTAS) and it's OK if you're just pottering about but hard work in combat. I was looking at getting a cheap HOTAS the name across some people running dual sticks instead, namely 2 Thurstmaster T16000m. Looks like fun and more intuitive. The stick itself looks plastic fantastic but users hall effect sensors which are reportedly very good. For ~£60 for a pair, might be worth a go.

I only got involved because I think near the very begining mate was on about it and it was like £10 at the time so just kinda watching things go by and hoping 3.0 brings something I will get involved in (like a year from now haha).

Check here every week or so mate you'll get a freefly at some point as we always mention them when we're told :)

Right now I think you're doing the right thing, if in doubt hold off. You are pledging for a promise after all. I'm not saying I haven't spent hundreds of hours having fun on it BUT it's not a complete game by any means it's still just a few cool bits, some tech demo and a fraction of a game that's actually playable.

I'm having a blast on the Star Marine module, the gun play already is satisfying. It's may sound silly. But the community in Star Citizen is the best I have ever witnessed too. I have had too ask quite a lot questions regarding controls and mechanics, no one has called me childish names, and everyone is willing to help. That's alone has been worth the price tag so far, really refreshing.
