******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Confirmation of being able to use massive multicore CPU's as they will be fully utilised with their new batch processing so best jump onto a Threadripper CPU if you want ultimate performance for SC. Was on the Happy Hour interview yesterday.

Edit: The atmosphere & stamina interaction is pretty cool. The idea to use poison gas, vent the atmosphere to incapacitate your enemies etc either by destroying the item or hacking it is also a cool idea. So yeah really detailed there and awesome to listen to how deep they going. I can't think of other games where they are so detailed with these systems.

I would say some of those elements above are still pretty large core parts of the game, doors & airlocks is massive overall. Persistent damage, inventory support and cargo are also pretty large in my book in honesty. Hopefully they will be all good though. Delayed indefinitely for a few of the app things is worrying though.

I'm not fully up to speed but many of the ship airlocks etc and even potentially rover/dragonfly may be linked to the item system in some way..

Was hoping we'd be besting insurance/cargo by now though. Know it's not glamourous but like Curlyriff says we need the key components ASAP.

3.0 schedule was just updated, its still on track for;

Evocati: 12/06/17
PTU: 23/06/17
PU: 06/07/17

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/schedule-report

There are a lot of delays but most of the big ticket items like Moons, Landing, Surface Outposts, Asteroid Fields / Belts... are done, the only big one that is delays is Delama and Levski.
It actually looks like they got the big stuff out of the way first and pushed back the more thrivelous stuff, other than at this point Delama and Levski, which could just be because of mission givers delay.

It looks like most of the hard work is done.

- Surface outposts - feature complete
- Surface outpost lighting - new
- Mission givers - delayed
- Debris fields - feature complete
- Item 2.0 ship conversion - feature complete
- Insurance - delayed
- Stamina - feature complete for 3.0 (ongoing work for future patches)
- Doors & Airlocks - delayed
- Cargo - delayed
- Commodities - delayed
- Kiosk Support - delayed
- Persistent Damage... - delayed
- Inventory System Support - delayed
- Rover and dragonfly in ships - delayed :(
- IFCS performance improvements - feature complete
- Planetary tech - feature complete
- Solar System Tool - feature complete
- Mission Manager App - delayed indefinitely
- Ship Selector App - delayed
- Mission board app - delayed indefinitely

My 16 thread CPU awaits :D

Think I'll wait until others have tested how beneficial it is if/when the game releases.. rather than throwing more money at one game* ;)

*although might justify it for video editing..

Above is a bit similar in my head IE not going to buy it day one and check if it's an absolute flop, however from pretty much all accounts it should not be. I have been wanting to set up a vm for a while and a quad core simply does not cut it for what i want to do with it. So in my head im seeing a 16 core having 4 cores chopped for VM and 12 cores for me. that would be a huge increase on my own video rendering times compared to what i have now. think il go back to full water though as recently the noise coming from my system has been irritating at best.

do you regulars think 3.0 is going to release this month with planet landings, exploration, trade, mining etc possibilities?

For regulars its actually the first week in July.
Evocati on the 12'th Jun and PTU invites on the 26'th Jun.

In my opinion the chances Evociti are going to be push back by one week or more are 3/10

Depending on how we get on with testing and how much / what we find PTU invites could get pushed back a week, there is a higher chance of that, 8/10

Once PTU have it its rare for it to get pushed back more, so final release mid July.

thanks Humbug,

I'm massively excited for the game still after all these years, but just dont really enjoy it in it's current state. Kudos to you guys still hammering it out though
