******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

You can feel the scale better than most games I've played and I think it's shaping up nicely. Still an insane amount to do though!

Love being the avatar and not the ship though, being able to get up and walk around and do things whilst someone else pilots is great. I never thought I'd prefer multi-crew over solo as I generally play solo a lot but this game makes me want to crew up.

I quite like trading, there is something about inspecting a cargo hold full of the commodity boxes you just bought from a farm or a mining station, and then taking it else where to sell it on for a profit, or sometimes not, yesterday i couldn't shift some titanium that i had bought for 11 per unit for anything more than 7, i lost about 3000 aUEC but that's just part of the experience.

So how does it actually work right now, you buy a ship from the site and gain access to the game, then do you get to keep that infinatly in the alpha/beta until the game is actually released or if it blows up is that it gone for good?

No one knows for sure yet but the school of thought is you have a choice to keep the ship or exchange its value for store credit.

it's going to be really difficult to permanently lose access to a ship in game unless you are caught cheating. insurance will be cheap and you'll get reminded before taking an uninsured ship out of your hangar.

Can't even leave the bunker at port olisar now. Door won't open, also can't open doors on my cutlass in the hangar. Was fine earlier.
As humbug told me earlier put a claim in should work okay on replacement.

Edit to say it worked fine for me on my 315 my avenger titan I had to claim again as it came with no rear doors lol

I couldn't even get out of where you wake up in Port Olisar but finally let me out lol.

I much prefer the Cutlass rework, it's a really good looking ship imo.

nope, still cant play this even though its stunning. Full of bugs just very frustrating and a total waste of time still.

Tried 3 missions, each collection and delivery missions from Terra Farm. Got there, went inside the little shelter but each time there is nothing to pick up. Can't interact with the guy behind the counter even though he has a "pickup" icon above his head. No items in the shipment computer to the left of him resembling any of the "genmod" or "processed food" im there to pickup.

I'll come back in another year and try again.

It's almost like it's not a finished product yet.

I get that, I totally do, but if you're going to release a tiny percentage of the game after all this time which is a year or so late, you'd think they'd be able to get everything inside this teeny weeny chunk (3.0) to be a bit more playable right?

I'll try again in 2019

Most likely it wasn't ready for prime time just yet, but they didn't want to slip into next year.
Problem is, all this time wasted on fixing bugs so that the backers can play, is taking time for actually developing the game. Sure, it gives us something, or else they would have been in sea of trouble due to all the naysayers, but is not without a setback. :)

***quoted post removed***

Don't know why they replaced pressing f & mouse wheeling to select stuff to having to point at it with the mouse pointer. I remapped the keys to match my ED's & actually once I did that flying around was great but they've taken a step backward with the interaction mode imho.

Time spent fixing bugs is never wasted! Far better for them to be shaking down 3.0 and getting it stable than working on yet another Gamescom Feature announcement that no-one asked for.

Come back in 2019? More like 2021 based on where they're currently at....not that I'm knocking CiG, just giving some realism! Game I'm working on is roughly 2020 release and it's in a *way* more playable and stable state than SC is.

Not much consistency to the moderation around here :p

Any news on when the latest free trial period is on again? I fancy another go :D

So frustrated...finally got it wheres its running really smooth and I can't land the ship without one of the ends lifting (Cutlass Black). It's telling me landing complete but it keeps doing it :(

EDIT: Seems turning the engine off did it so maybe it was my being a noob. Could have explained that somewhere lol.
