Working on episode 3 at the mo, going to be about a month though, takes ages watching all the content and I've got the Next Great Starship to cover too this time!

I can see me playing it for a while, depends how good it is though.. fingers crossed. Enjoy what we've got so it's looking good.
 
3.0 unlikely to be out until spring imho. Going on previous years, I can't see them releasing it unless it's fairly stable even to evocati. 2.6 might be out, that's the focus for this year tbh

ttaskmaster get a refund, you can still request them apparently. Then you can come back if/when it's out.

As far as Elite goes whether it's more fun or not is subjective, I find the alpha parts more fun than elite and I've got elite + all the expansions, I've probably spent 6x longer playing Star Citizen though.

@OP if you want to play now a space sim game, look towards Elite Dangerous with Horizons. Star Citizen at best will come out 2019 if not later.

Actually the PTU we've been playing (playing - as in like a game) has only been out since the end of 2015, so again - more misinformation and nonsense.

I'm constantly amazed at the effort people who dont' care about the game will put into saying how much they dont' care about the game. Keep it up folks, clearly there's no games you'd rather be playing :D

No I've done that before too, the ticket is a bit pants in that it's not a date but looks like one :D

I'm with Humbug on 2.6 dropping, can't see it being soon unless they've been holding back on avocado testing it - which is possible.
 
phrases I don't think it's the game crashing, usually it's the servers if it's in the PTU (public test universe) where you can chase after each other etc around Olisar/Crusader.

That part is heavily server reliant at the moment but they're working on the code for it.
 
There's a 360 controller profile in controls, most of the devs use them for testing.

Don't get me wrong you'll never have the precision of a HOTAS or even mouse/keyboard but it's perfectly usable.

Steam controller needs a lot of configuration though.. I'd steer clear of it for now unless you use someone else's XML file for it.

Evocati have to download two versions every patch as they've got live/PTU access, painful!
