******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Anyone know if trading has improved in 3.13? Really want to jump into it again but got so fed up with the 30k's and other random bugs.

Its still in Alpha. I have no hope for this game
The MMO side is getting updates and there will at least be something for people to play whether it will be everything promised is another question.
I backed it for SQ42 though and it's getting clearer and clearer that they have focused more and more on the MMO side over the years that they are now severely behind on the single player campaign. They have been worryingly quiet on the SQ42 side for a long time and I reckon end of 2022 is a rather optimistic release as this point. Wouldn't surprise me if it's another 4 years.

I would be surprised if it comes out of beta in 2022. I have no hope for next 5 years judging by whats been happening with this game

SQ42 is a bigger meme that SC. Remember they also spent years saying they were focussing on SQ42, not SC. Since they got nowhere with SQ42, they're now saying they've prioritised SC...keep changing the narrative, keep moving the goalposts, keep the money flowing in, keep CIG corp afloat and keep paying for those all hefty salaries, swish builidings and furnishings...

The rapture will come before SQ42.

They do have a monthly report of how SQ42, don't worry guys, they are doing the focusing on the important things.

"On-foot security, tourist, and tour guide activities were further developed too. The bed bunks behavior progressed, with the team working towards a better abstraction of bed shutter usage and investigating how to support bed sheets when characters are sleeping."

"The eat and drink behavior continued to be improved, particularly ‘chowline’ usage. In addition to cleaning up the chowline, eating, and drinking animations, they improved the drinking behavior to make taking a cup a separate action. Plus, exit animations are now split between taking the tray and exiting tables so that multiple actions can be performed from specific bounce poses."

I haven't seen them change from the SQ42 is priority at all, you actually have any information on where they have suggested that the PU is being pushed ahead of SQ42 now? Also there might be a dozen people with some hefty salaries but for the most part they are rather under paid in the industry from all accounts. It has been brought up by previous devs as well as from people that have looked at applying to open roles.

Still no bog roll/turd physics? Pft

No but last time it was on freeplay I got stuck in a toilet cubicle and couldnt get out. The door wouldnt work and jump wouldnt let me climb out the top and and crouch wouldnt let me get under the bottom. My character is still in that toilet to this day.

I bet my previous free play character is still stuck in the lift too.

Tells you something on both my last freeplay visits never saw a spaceship or space let alone fly in one.

great, all the SQ42 stuff we've been waiting years for as a backer is still not happening, but let's put time effort an resources into tourists. WTAF.

I mean yeah pick a few sentences out and ignore that anything else done and it seems stupid but considering all the other elements they also worked on then it should probably be looked at as a more complete overview.

March saw AI Features complete the first pass on subcomponent targeting. This is now integrated and used in the main game-dev branch and will initially improve the behavior used when smaller ships attack capital ships, allowing for more effective element targeting, complex attack patterns, tactics.

The pilot security behavior was also restructured and extended. This is used, among other things, when security spaceships validate illegal content inside ships. Alongside creating a better structured and more scalable activity, it allows the security pilot to request the target surrender and handle different player behaviors. The pilot will also continue to request that the player surrenders during combat, allowing players to end the conflict and be arrested. They also worked to allow AI pilots to correctly dock at any supported location. This functionality is similar to landing, as it allows ships to navigate close to the collar and then perform a docking maneuver.

Could also take this out and actually show other AI that is more specific to the SQ42 element. Also it is the AI department for the whole company and it is the same written information for the PU which makes sense since they share all the same tech in that regards so some it such as the small extract taken is more PU specific but covers what team still done.

it was meant to be a joke, but so is the development really. I backed something 8/9 years ago, with the original estimate of getting something 4/5 years ago. Now we have it currently with no end in sight with them just saying "it will be done when it's done", and that's with the fact that they have added much more features/scope to the original project without delivering what they originally promised.

Some of the blockers for SQ42 are same as MP: AI, Ships, Graphics/API, assets, etc.

It's the year 2030, they have raised $1Billion and have a staff of over 5,000. Yet some people still claim they are a small independent studio that doesn't have any resources. Still no sign of SQ42 as it will be ready when it's ready, don't fret though, they have been busy releasing new craft you can buy for £100,000...... can't fly them yet though, that's going to be another 5 years. :p:p:p
