******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

That looks bobbins. Homeworld looks better than this

This? I think it looks nice but its a very different thing to What you're seeing in my screen caps, for one i think those "Gas Clouds" are a skybox or a sprite, they are not a volumetric entity. The ships look like they are from Freelancer, 2003.

Not like, erm? This....

I've not been keeping up with patch notes but I hear Crusader is the new starting place of choice. The jump point for QT has been lowered, the station itself already starts high up which will mean short travel before jump; ala Area18. There's also new missions on the station using the pve area. Plus shops, although I don't remember if it has as good a range as A18.

Oh interesting, if they have made the jump point for QT lower it could be a nice change. Particularly if their are the rumoured FPS improvements!

All correct yes.

New box retrieval missions.

Wrecked MSR and 600i made in to a little shantytown. About 12 NPC's outside, Daymar.

Once we took them out a backup Cutty flew in, a player turned up after it landed, the cutty turret was fighting with the player ship and we took on the pirate NPC's in the back of it, eventually the cutty blew up on the ground, it didn't break apart and disappear, it remained intact onfire in a damaged state, we could have stripped its hull had we brought the tools.

It worked and it was fun, it also looked really good. We were on the server for 2 hours before it....

that sounds like some fantastic gameplay. I am itching to give it a go but like I have said before in this thread I can't really as with limited game time I don't want to risk burnout and the game lose its shine before it's done.
I totally don't mind the odd minor rollback for those who exploited bugs and am fine with it not being feature complete and stuff coming in over time.. but the biggest announcement I am waiting for is one where the stuff I earn in game is actually locked to my account permenantly . the "feature".of only those who buy ships with cash get to keep them and everything else gets wiped is a problem for me

Most of us dip in and out for a little while and aren't playing constantly all year round. With limited game time, it'd be difficult to get burned out on this anyway - especially given how long it takes to get almost anything done in there

Yeah I tend to play more when there are big updates. I think whilst there is still regular wipes and stuff, I'm kinda reluctant to put too much effort in to it. As it stands I'll likely wait till the big 4.0 before I sink any more significant amount of time. I'm keen to play but I want to save it for when the universe expands!:D

have there been any noises about possible persistent in-game wallet coming any time soon to allow players like myself to get stuck in? (as in one which will largely survive release)

Same, i dip in and out but usually only when there's something major released so i can try it out. Only problem is, every time i dip out for extended periods of time i forgot all the key mappings so its a learning curve all over again lol.
