******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Am not thinking this is likely, needed but really not likely. It moving to testing sooner than later would show direction and support that we might get 4.0 in next 6 months at least then.

I don't think it would take 6 months, Moving parts wise 3.24 had a lot more stuff. 4.0 is basically a copy paste Stanton system with a different theme so nothing difficult there so it's "just" server meshing that is now the next hurdle and going by the tests they've done so far it's very impressive stuff.

With the amount of time that's passed since the last test I'm hoping, Considering it's a completely different team to 3.24, That progress is quite far along and the finish line is in sight.

I'd say Evo testing of 2 months should be enough to iron out any issues. 3.24 which had a lot more moving parts what with the inventory reshuffle, Cargo, Hangars etc... took 1-2 months so probably the same again for 4.0, Maybe even less if it goes well.

Yay for persistent personal hungers.

Has there ever been a evo patch that took 6 months from first evo patch to live?
Well 3.24 was just over 3 months. We have had some solid 3-4 months before. But this is assuming they have it in Evo now, at moment it could be another 4-6 weeks till anything on 4.0 hits Evo for all we know. Then say a 3-4 month of it being a mess with xmas between as well if it is that long etc.

Maybe, maybe not. I don't think 3.24 does though. You have listed for 4.0

  • New Jump Points with all effects
  • Pyro with all the stations, outposts, missions, cave locations
  • Room system / Life support
  • Fire system
  • Engineering / Resource Management
  • Server Meshing
  • New animals
  • The reworked HUDs/MFD
  • Charge and Drain weapons
  • MM Updates
  • FPS Updates
So getting all that in and making sure all of the moving parts that come with Server meshing, the transit systems, engineering etc all working and talking and triggering, moving, whilst fixing stuff from what is broken in 3.24 is a tall order honestly.

Also note yeah there are a lot of teams but there also a lot of cross over still and people getting pulled off what they were doing to help somewhere else. Ian (forgot second name) confirmed for instance he still working on both SQ42 and the PU whom is part of the 3.24 refactor and hence why they ran out of time to fix some things they been aware of for 6+ months which is mad.

I'm really struggling with the new patch so far. I like what I've seen but can't try the new hauling missions as the items don't show up in the warehouse and my ship keeps blipping out of existence at random intervals

Yes, these are bugs, they are going to spend ***** knows how long fixing all this now while Disco Lando, AKA Jerad Huckerby spends from now till Citizencon babbling about Pyro, i think last weeks ISC was episode 137 on Pyro, i'm being factitious of course but if its not coming any time soon all they can do is keep talking about it on and on and on......

Its like they watched Morphologists video and thought 'yeah that's a good idea, just keep talking about it and everything will be fine, no one will care that we have been doing that for the last serval years'

CIG have activated the F8C golden ticket event from now until September 30th so you'll be able to find golden tickets all around the place and if you find one you can buy an F8C for the low low price of $300.

Need some insight... I bought an F8C with accumulated store credit, It's a nice ship but with needing to get a golden ticket it got me thinking.

If I melt it down will I be able to rebuy it at a later date from the pledge buy backs section or would I need a 2nd golden ticket ?
