*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

The only reason I went for it to be honest....of course a few others little things too.

Decided to cancel my SE Origin preorder and go for the GAME CE edition. I really want the CE vendor and VIP access.

Already have my preorder key in my account for the early access, and then will just enter my CE retail key when it is released. Win win really. Don't plan on getting many games next year, so doesn't work out too bad.

I could, but then I would have the missus to contend with later lol. You know what women can be like when we spend cash on games :p

I am just not telling her :p - she wouldnt understand!

I have a question. I ordered the CE from Game(over the counter), paid the £20 deposit they were asking. Got my box with the code inside, registered on the TOR website, can confirm that its says “ You have registered the CE edition on the 21 July 2011” etc etc.

So what’s stopping me not paying the balance off when the game launches, unless I want to go collect the actual box with all the goodies in and then pay the balance off.

I was thinking about this earlier

Because you will need the retail key :)

I am still waiting for my preorder key from Game (then again, I only ordered a few hours ago and don't need it anyway).

Yep, just looked on Origin.

Game = £39.99
Early Access = £5.00

Coining it in. Especially when there's no guarantee as to when you'll be able to start the early access either.

There was a quote floating around the official forums (from a devs twitter) that for those entering the code on the 3rd day of preordering, they would have as little as 2 days in the headstart. No idea how true this is.

Not sure if it has been said before but there are some new decent quality vids up on the cake. One of the vids confirms to create a guild you have to go to capital cities, does anybody know what level you go to your factions capital? Is it level 10? (Preparing for the epic race on release to get to the capital and create the guild :p)

10(ish)

It costs a good few credits too.

Can't believe how big this thread is and the game doesn't even have a release date yet?

That said I'm pretty sure I'll pick it up when it comes out :D

Took a while to get started, but this thread has really picked up now.

The hype machine for this game has gone into overdrive at the moment.

Lets all hope it livies upto expectation :)

I think your forgetting something mate...if we create the guild on the official SWTOR website now, when the game starts and we login the guild will be there already and we'll all be talking in guild chat...which is why I said to you and others other week we should get a move on...but everyone was saying "oh lets wait till release"...I'd like to disagree because thousands of other people have already created their guilds as you can see from searching through the guilds already made on the SWTOR website.

The people that made TOR made this unique feature where we can make the guilds now using the software on their website and the guild will appear when we login to the game...which I personally think was a fantastic idea.

So lets just pick a name, make the guild, and then be done with it...and then when the game comes out and is finally released we'll all be playing together and everybody will be happy.

It will be nice to go to the SWTOR website and see "oh look it says we have 40 members now"...next day I login..."oh look we have 60 members now"...also people can start inviting their friends from this forum and also real-life friends to come join us on the offical SWTOR in our guild.

The tools are there for us to do this...everybody else is doing it...I think we should do it now, I dont think there should be a problem with that...I could have done it myself weeks ago...

100% agree. Lets get this guild up and running.

Just watched some of the new cake videos and the sooner this is out the better!

+1

Such a shame that this isn't going to be released until the time when i will actually have loads of work to do :(

Edit: From the official forums:

I just recieved the latest Gamestar Magazine from Germany this morning in my mailbox and i was suprised to read this about Operations (Raids). Translation: "Each Raid has 2 sizes, for 8 and 16 heros, aswell as ajustable difficulty levels. The quality of the loot is based on the difficulty setting of the instance." After every bossfight EACH player gets a bag of Rewards", sais Lead designer Gabe Amatangelo. "Inside that Bag you can find class specific Items, or Badges which can be used to buy items. You don't have to fight for your rewards."

I thought on swtor.com you could set up a guild now and have it automatically set up when you log in with your 1st toon connected to your swtor.com account.

Apparently so, didn't realise this. If you want to make it randomly in the game then it costs a good few credits and you need a full team.

If we can do it through the website, then we should get it setup ASAP. We just need a name and someone to take responsibility for it.

Agreed, fighting over the rewards stresses me out - always annoyed me with Cryptic MMOs when most people would walk away with nothing.

Looks like they had no healer at all. Are flashpoints really that easy?

I managed the equivilant Imperial flashpoint with just one other person (who luckily had lots of holds). We went through the flashpoint carefully - died a couple of times, but made it through eventually. Probably quite easy for a team of 4. Regardless, the flashpoint was great fun :)
