******Official War Thunder Thread*******

Long form:
On Wednesday night I had a clear out of inactive members.
I stuck to a pattern of removing only people who had no activity on their player cards for the last month, except for people who had left us an explanation for why (This was nobody. Nobody has done this.).
I removed approximately 10 folks, whose names I promptly forgot, because they were never online to ever talk to me or anyone else.

HOWEVER, if this includes you, and you feel it is unfair, feel free to reapply (as was made clear in my messages).

HOWEVER HOWEVER, Mr Kwango and the other Officers and active members I have spoken to agree that our lovely little squadron is here to enjoy playing "together", in an attempt to add a social aspect to our flying activity.
If you are currently in the squadron and are not running TeamSpeak, in-game voice chat or just writing to others at some point in a week to get a squad game going, I recommend you consider if this squadron is the place for you.
If you want to play it solo instead of joining in the fun (and it IS fun. Tons of it), but want the OCUK monicker on your name for the prestige, then you should know:

Eventually my ban-hammer will find you. Or Boyceys. Or Kwangos. Or Spangles... probably not Spangles actually... because infant.

I have had instances recently where I have been online with other guys, and have asked them if they want to squad up, or what battle rating they're playing, and have gotten no answer despite them being online for an hour or more afterwards. In one instance, me and my squad went into a battle where one of these guys was actually on the opposite team. We messaged several times to get his attention, got one short answer back, and that was all.
This stuff shouldn't be happening.
I'm intent on preventing it happening in the future.

To all active players: Keep doing what you're doing. And if you see a name you don't know in the squadron chat, give them a shout. Maybe they'll be your wingman.

TL;DR version: If you don't want to squad and chat then kindly GTFO.

Love and hugs
xoxo

I'm super pleased that I got my first kill with the x55 yesterday, flying in the mossie with Jay and Brainchild. Explodinated a 109 G2 and narrowly missed crashing into Jay!

just a quick line to say that Brain spoke with me and I fully endorsed/support the 'cull'

at one point the squad had over 70 members I believe with only about 10 - 15 being active and squadding or chatting. the whole idea of the squad was to encourage a bit of social gaming, which I must point out greatly adds to this games fun.

of the other 40+ members there were several who did play from time to time and even some who played quite regular but pointedly refused any attempts at comms when online - I'm not for one second saying that every time anyone comes online for a quick game that they need to squad up or chat, hell everyone wants a bit of solo action now and again (oohh err missus) but if you wanna be in a squad/clan you really do need to say hello occasionally otherwise what's the point??

on another note, anyone out there playing and soloing who wants or needs a bit of advice or some tips or simply wants to enjoy a great bit of craic please feel free to join up and there are plenty who will gladly take you under their protective wing - excuse the pun!!

I support this....

I know I've not flown in a squad for a while but to be honest, I constantly seem to come on at the wrong times... and more often than not I see people online, that I don't recognize who do not want to speak.

Really need to make more of an effort I think...

Yea I gotta admit Im on at odd times and when I do notice people are trying to squad up (or I get invited) Im usually about to quit out.

Should try a bit harder really.

that's not a problem dude, we understand not everyone can be on at the same time, folks lives, work schedules etc determine when you can get on. the problem really is the guys that join, rarely or never actually play or do play but are only soloing and simply don't respond to chat invites or in game messages.

I can only imagine they joined the squad simply to get to add a clan name to their gamer tag!! :p

I should also add that even if you don't have a mic or are too shy to speak, come on into the TS channel anyway, you can listen in on our dynamic and riveting conversations :D

indeed, its normal that some people will be on at different times and such, these are also the people who when invited say they are just off, or will be on another time etc etc.

Can't see what bonus having our clan tag has tbh, probably just attracts more bullets than anything (definitely using that excuse next time).

Cull is fully supported by myself, everyone reading the last few posts will hopefully know if they are included or not.

It IS 4 x 30mm cannons, strapped together with the hopes and dreams of my crushed enemies, then fitted with a handle made of the wing spar of the Mig 9 I killed with my Chaika.
And it's a one-shot pilot killer every. Single. Time.
;)

Just waiting for the internet connection to be upgraded then I shall be back. Hopefully should be soon. Problem is that it is going to take about a week to download the update and then when I do get to play, as soon as someone else in the house does something online, my connection just becomes 56k-esque!

Havent missed much spangles. Although we did get 7 H6Ks in 1 domination match last night but i landed too hard and my wings fell off.
