ahaha, well a combat sim is no fun without the combat!
Nothing I used to enjoy more than trying to limp home in a critically damaged four engine bomber that would without some insane individual engine management, trim, pitch and fire extinguishing would drop out the sky like a rock.
 
Started playing a few days back, love the game. Am level 5 or 6 with the Brits, I refuse to play any others. Mainpy done arcade so far, will move to historic in the future. My username is SpanglesUK if anyone wants to add me on there :)
 
Glad to see people are playing this on this forum.

Im level 22 I think... and I only play arcade. Not quite ready to move over to HB or FRB but I will eventually.

Learning about the different aircrafts pros and cons is great and really useful when their on your six but for those starting off, be prepared to be rammed constantly and for team mates stealing your kills.

My advice to anyone looking at this game is to have fun. Stay away from the message board and forums as its just people moaning.

Enjoy yourself. Its a good looking and playing game which offers someone for everyone.
 
Yeah, if you can get over the plebs ramming you (not counting head on passes!) on purpose, the kill stealing little ****s and the runway killing scumbags (they can't shoot down aircraft in the air so they have to resort to killing stationary planes on runways) the game is enjoyable. Even though there are morons, there are far less here than in World of Tanks - I think 3 dimensions gives them a real headache!

Some big economy changes today, repair costs have risen considerably.

Loving this game; I pretty much only play War Thunder and World of Tanks at the moment, but the former I do for fun whilst the latter feels like a chore.
 
Seems to be a special on at the moment to commemorate the Korean War, 5x XP for the first victory with a nation and discounts on some high level aircraft.

haha that's very true, every single thread I went into seemed to be saying "I love this game BUT here are the reasons that it's terrible and will die a quick death" :p
 
Just installed this and liking it a lot, runs super smooth maxed out, and can definitely see its been made by the same people that make IL2....!

I agree that Gaijin did a really good job with it, it's light years ahead of World of Warplanes.

edit: out of curiosity, are you running Comodo firewall and anti-virus? Because I do and it has caused issues with War Thunder before, but I disabled it and it's still giving me the "Network Limited" error.

I'm running windows 7 firewall and Nod32 I guess it's their end

I have been in my loft and dug out my Thrustmaster Hotas Cougar I wonder if it will work
 
I have been hearing that this game has recently been leaning towards a pay-to-win game which is a little sad to hear,any of you guys that still play this care to comment?
I was going to give it whirl but if it's P2Win I'll leave it.
 
I'm still playing a lot and it's defo not pay-to-win. It's pay-or-grind.
You can pay up to get higher tier aircraft faster but once you have those aircraft you are always put against people with similar level planes.
The first 40 or so hours is an acceptably fun grind imo and playing low to mid tier planes is a boat load of fun anyway. Once you get to about level 12 for a specific country then it becomes a longgg grind to actually get the next plane and the next one.
Also, ditch arcade mode for Historic Battle mode.
