picked this up again last weekend.
currently grinding BBs but still haven't decided which nation.
do i want a sniper (JPN) or a bruiser (GER)? :(
also currently doing the final push towards the baltimore and eventually the des moines.
 
TBH - there is something about the Yamato..... Just an iconic ship.

But, I haven't played much recently - got Mahan and enjoy it, but the Pensacola has put me off playing cruisers - I know it's not a Cleveland ship and requires a very different playstyle, but the gun range means you get spotted before you even fire and *everybody* aims at you knowing they will get citadels regardless of how you angle. It is *HATEFUL*

British cruisers are fun though.

next patch has some buffs for US cruisers from what i've heard.
i.e. pepsi getting more concealment :cool:

Pepsi needs a lot more than concealment. Problem is that EVERYBODY sees it as one big citadel (which it is). Once spotted it is just the ship everyone shoots at - hey I do it if I see one.
 
Just downloaded this last night so in the very early stages but defiantly interested in a clan.

Finished the grind for my free Southern Dragon yesterday and actually really like it which I wasn't expecting, I do however use an addon that removes the horrible Arpeggio and novelty skins from free ships and shows me a stock Japanese skin so I don't have to hurt my eyes with them ;)
 
I've been playing using the Warspite recently. Which is a bit different than the other battleships. Feels more like a giant cruiser that hits like a train.
 
We could do with a mod taking "Closed Beta Test" out of the title of this thread.

I struggled at first with this game but I'm starting to get to grips with it now. I've platooning with someone more experienced than me which helps. Enjoying the German BBs (Nassau and Kaiser) so much that I bought a Scharnhorst and jumped straight to T7.

I know this is massively frowned upon in world of tanks as I don't even have a T5 yet but I should be okay.
 
TBH once you reach a tier with aircraft carriers, the game doesn't really change from then upwards. It's just a different bunch of ships. So I don't see an issue with jumping right to a high tier.

Theres a lot of RNG in WOWS as well. Sometimes you have a great game, sometimes your terrible because you get unlucky. I had a game yesterday in a destroyer where I got 5 torpedo kills, the next one I was the first one to die :D
 
I find the lack of ship slots really limiting, keep having to sell a ship whenever I want to upgrade.
 
Time to put your hand in your pocket and buy some Dubloons. The 'free' part of 'free to play' only gets you so far if you want a decent ship collection.

I see Mutsu is the special offer Premium this month, vaguely interested as She's sort of a pre-refit Nagato, just wondering whether the cons outweigh the pros............................
