****** Official World of Warships Thread ******

I felt the first rage akin to playing WoT last night :(, Every battle started with spamming F10 and F4 (or F11) in chat, nearly everyone ignored any attempt to launch any kind of coordinated approach particularly coordinating fire onto a single target  and I am having increasingly worrying experiences that hint at a rise of people using bots particularly in the case of straight line runners in the form of CLs and CAs ignoring BBs and just plowing straight through no where near enemy fire so they shouldn't be under sights and have full view around them, every battle I saw or suffered multiple instances of this, in one instance when we were engaged with enemy I got citadelled 3 times by the ship hitting me loosing slavos and they weren't even pinked

I might be giving this a rest for a bit when my premium runs out :(
what tier is that at?
now i'm far from great at the game, looking at my stats.
but it seems there now is no middle ground anymore in terms of player ability.
it's either dreadful or they're way too good.

just checked my stats we as i've usually been around 55% winrate with most ships, my baltimore is at 32%:(

Installed this at the weekend to see what the fuss was about after a few friends mentioned it... Got hooked pretty quick! Working up a few shiplines, initially started with the UK before being told how few ships they had (quite like the t2 I have there though) and am now working on US and Japan. Unlocked the Phoenix tier4 yesterday, so different from the St Louis before it, Phoenix feels like a destroyer by comparison and I'm still working to get my eye in with actually hitting anything with it. Love the range it has though!
Got the Japanese t2 destroyer for something different, not quite got the hang of the detection mechanics so tend to die quickly in it - but when you get the torps right it's damn satisfying so I'll definitely spend some more time with it.

I was playing a mix of tier V to tier VIII mostly BBs but a some DD and CA as well, I normally think "M'eh" with idiot teams but last night 12 games all lost with me being if not the last to die at least the second to last and some battles down to me inside 5 minutes I could feel my blood pressure rising so I went and did some wall papering insstead

quick tip, when ingame press control and hover over your hp bar. it'll show all detection ranges. i still do it every time i start a game since i can't memorize all my ships detection ranges :)

certainly know the feeling. i usually play with at least 1 friends and we're both struggling at the moment. i'm mainly grinding baltimore and nagato at the moment. :(

Think I can get the same info pressing H. I think tbh I just need to read a guide on how it works, I know I was so frustrated with destroyers randomly vanishing at first - I just assumed it was a bug :D

What offer did you go with?
edit- re-read your post. Realise now that you got a ship. Got me thinking though, is there anything that's worthwhile paying for just to get going?
Currently I'm pure free to play but open to the idea of paying for a little bit, just no idea what I'd go with and what's worthwhile?

Had a few awesome games yesterday with a friend. In one our team were off to a bad start on a 3 point control map with multiple ship losses leaving us 2-3 ships down. Me and my buddy in the Isokaze and Izyaslav respectively, struggling against fire from cruisers due to some good spotting support from their destroyers. Finally managed to pick off their destroyers, allowing us to tear through their battleships and cruisers one at a time with sneaky torpedo volleys and come back to win the game :D

that totally depends on you. some prefer buying premium ships (i don't). i just have a premium account as it's nice for the extra cash and xp earned every battle.

I think getting to t6 without premium is the way to go combined with lvl 14.

You get a lot of money, flags etc on the way and can easily get the recommended freinds BB USS Texas t5.

It's a fairly decent beast at 7 and 6 slow as hell though.
It wrecks t4 and t5

Been enjoying this game quite a lot recently, kind of relaxing but also intense at times. Wish my mates played it, would be so much better with other people!

Think I've finally made the transition from Nürnberg to Yorck, talk about totally and completely different play styles, absolutley hated Yorck at first but now I've broken the habits of the ligher German Cruisers I think I'm getting there.

Got the warspite at the weekend with the offer on and omg im loving it.
Dont know why it gets all the hate.

It's hard to get a good game in it compared to other battleships. It also has a much shorter range than it should.

But if you can get a good shot on a cruiser, you can one shot them.

I play the Warspite like I play German BBs. Hang back a bit at the start and take pot shots when I can and pick my position, then get in close when the time is right. The Warspite is a great brawler!

I find being aggressive is the key and also use yourself as a shot sponge in the line just behind the Cruisers, also for a BB that allegedly has an average set of secondaries I get an awful lot of Close Quarters Expert in it and have shocked foolish DDs that have come in close on many an occasion.
