Not touched ranked beyond a bit of time on the 1v1 stuff a couple of months back. Only had Monarch at the time and she was probably one of the worst ships for that.

Looks like Smolensk may be around for a couple of days so i should be able to get her. Although after reading through the War Gaming forums i'm tempted to get Jean Bear before it is pulled instead.
I don't have any other Russian ships so no experienced captains to get the best out of Smolensk.

I was on it yesterday but it seems to take an age to login. Not been on it for a while and came back this week end it gave me 24 days premium free in total. Wasnt there something about an update this week.

Yes I got the 24 days update also the other day.
Seems all my online gaming has gone **** up after a win10 update! Can't get on anything but browsing the web is fine.

Sounds like it. Not sure how to go about it though so might after to clean install. Even the time is wrong, hasn't changed to bst. Some update that was.

After just over 4 years and almost 6K battles I've stopped playing, just sick of finishing a session more annoyed than when I started in a game that I only use for "fun and enjoyment" plus WG's business practices are generally annoying me right now. I've uninstalled it but not deleted my account yet as that feels like it would be a massive waste (ex-whale with absolutely everything) and I would hope to pick it back-up maybe in a year or two, just to see how it's going, but for the time being I'm ditching it.
I took 6 months off last year when the virtually untested and hugely unbalanced CV-Rework was dumped on the Live Server for "additional testing" whilst causing months of chaos and I get the same feeling with Subs after testing them on PTS (hugely unbalanced ATM), although this time it'll be in their own mode to start with which is small improvement over CV's.

Anyone having any fun with Submarines now they're available to 'test'?
Drove Warspite, and got utterly smashed from full HP to almost none by 3-4 torpedoes (which I later discovered ignore torp damage reduction stats) - but then had the last laugh because he got cocky, and came above 6m... so I gave him 15" of HE and a "you may return to port now" wave
Apart from that, Leander seems to be a good ship to counter them at the moment - Hydro AND decent depth charges, although as a class they completely throw the balance of the match out. Really hoping they don't get released into random battles - there's so much more they could do with subs, new game modes they could setup to be actually fun to fight with, and against.

Starting playing this after a few months rest not much has changed so far I can see gameplay wise. Seems to be graphical changes. German Carriers. Tried the IV and it has very strange targetting.

Anyone around here still playing Warships?
I got myself a new premium ship a couple of months back.... and, well.... I think I'm a little in love.
Yeah dude, picked myself up a Thunderer a couple months back and it's just the dog's danglies. Currently grinding up the Euro DD line (Skane is fun), and JN tech tree (currently at Amagi and Kagero, with a Furutaka lagging behind). Taking a little break to play squadrons, but I keep coming back to WoWs. It's a hell of a drug.

Me too been playing it since my last post in Aug even though I've got loads of stuff yet to play like RDR2 etc.
Even started playing it via Geforce Now when I`m WFH and there is a lull in the workload (shhhh!)
Bought myself Saipan after being torp'd to death once in a match and loving that CV.
Bit fed up of all the bumf they keep trying to shove down your throat. Seem to be getting less for "free" nowadays. Ie the Transformer theme most things you needed Doubloons to get stuff and now the latest one you still need Doubloons to get stuff and even then its just signals and the like. The dry dock where you have to build a ship cant be bothered with that. Although I did win 14 days of premium somehow by completing a mission.
Its a lot easier playing during the day than it is in the evening still.
The Masse was on a 3 day free the other week and it was terrible for me I just got pummelled quickly. Admittedly it was at stock equipment as I didnt have enough to upgrade it.

Having a love/hate relationship with wows the last few months, it seems the quality of the players at high tiers is dropping drastically.
Had a yamato in my team last night, 400 games in total, 50 on his yamato, his average damage was 34k

Thunderer is pretty awesome, although if too many ships take a look at you funny, you do tend to die rather fast. Skane is nice, decent upgrade from the Vasteras. Oland suffers a bit in only having the same torpedoes as Skane, but seeing MUCH worse MM (including T10 CV) so feels barely an upgrade, but she's fun when you get same tier matchmaking.
Massa does take a little learning, and really only starts to shine with a 14pt+ captain on her. I'm not saying I have a 19pt captain for her or anything, but baked in secondary accuracy + secondary module + advanced fire training + manual secondary expert means you make DD's (well, and everything else) cry under a hail of 5" shells from 11.3km out, while chunking anyone nearby for 12k per salvo of those fat, lazy, American AP shells.....

Ye gods, ain't that the truth! Far too many games just total and utter blowouts, took a screenshot the other day, just under the 4 minute mark... we'd lost 4 ships. I mean, just HOW can you be so potato you die before surviving 240 seconds into a game where nothing happens in the first 60-90 seconds?!? And yes, the enemy team lost nothing in return, and the game, massive surprise, took very little time to end.
If you get annoyed with it... relax. Pick up the V-25 again if you don't already own her, and stick a 10pt captain on her with Basic Fire Training and Concealment Expert. Now go remember how much fun the game is with small, fun, maneouverable ships and no aircraft carriers

Akatsuki? Or Akizuki? Quite a big difference.... is it a machine-gun with ludicrous fast fire rate? (Akizuki = 3.0 seconds base reload, 2.7 seconds if you take Basic Fire Training captain skill)
If you're a bit bored of the 'standard' gameplay I'd recommend getting to Akizuki if you have FreeXP laying around, she can be a bit of a monster when played well!
Cleveland is also a damn fine ship - Can I strongly recommend AGAINST getting the Seattle? If you don't play much, you WILL hate her. Compared to Cleveland she has:
- The exact same guns
- The exact same reload speed
- Worse firing angles
- A bigger citadel
- A higher citadel
- Less armour over her citadel. (4", compared to 5" on Cleveland)
- Worse detection range
- No secondary guns
yea I don't like cleveland much just played it for the amount of AA that line has.
Usually I play DD badly but sometimes get he top score.
it's actually the kagero I'm in now, I have a premium BS as well scharnhorst must have got it for free at some point since I would probably have bought a DD with real money or a cruiser
