Pico 4 out soon?

Yes mate all one room

When Virtual desktop connects what bandwidth does it say on the top of the window where you change the settings? And do you mind me asking what router do you have? Exact make and model please if possible.

Your problems sound exactly like what you would have if you didn't have a good wireless connection. If you are in the same room and are connected at 5Ghz and the cable between your router and your PC is Cat 5e or higher, then it's either a really crap router or a faulty Pico 4.

OK, mine's going back.
- No OpenXR
- The visuals with the Pico supplied Streaming Assistant really aren't that much better than I get with the existing Rift S
- Virtual Display gives a good display, but I can't get around the amount of lag spikes that I'm suffering. That "might" be resolved with a local wifi dongle
- I just haven't case a use case for the standalone capabilities. I have taken another look at the list of games for standalone, and none of them really appeal

Guess I'll wait for the pancake PCVR headset with a DV port, that doesn't have the cable design of the G2

Mines a stop gap mate

Ok so spent some more time on it tonight,
Using virtual desktop as wired is pointless atm,
Things seemed better visuals wise, tried a few different games and the clarity of distance objects does seem better to that of the quest 2,

Battery life is bad, and it really needs some after market face coverings because despite it feeling lighter than the Q2 this this is not comfortable at all,

Need to do some more back and forth testing between the two but out of time tonight,
And think i need to get my hands on a rtx 4090 at some point to enjoy a solid 90fps :)

It's just a standard router I got from ee, it has a 5hz connection,
Do you think something like the Asus one would be beneficial?

I've managed to get a through the lens photo so you can actually see the quality in real life.

This is through Virtual Desktop in High setting (not ultra). Let me know if anyone wants an ultra setting, but for me, using high at 72hz means I can ramp up the in game quality so I prefer it, and the latency is a constant 30ms which is really great.

Out of curiosity, can one of you P4 owners confirm the onboard screenshot/video recording resolution? And that you can also play games with the 'guardian' disabled?

Thanks.

on a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is awful......I'd say -4

I'm sure you can disable the guardian, I think I've seen it somewhere in the settings.

Quick question,
When you tried automobilista 2,
When in the 2d menus, did they look werid shaped to you?
Mine look like they are bulging from the center towards my face,
Not a massive amount but still noticeable

No mate, the menus looked spot on. They were a bit giant though, but can't say I thought they were anything but flat. Will double check tomorrow for you.
