360 pad to the PS3 is like the PS3 pad to the NES.
 
Is the reveal going to be streamed on the PS3 or something or will it be down to 3rd parties like IGN, Gametrailers etc.. one thing for sure is I don't want to miss it.
 
EA's CFO, Blake Jorgensen, revealed a few snippets today.

"An important thing to remember is that next-gen consoles will most likely not be backwards compatible,"

"I think as well you're going to see a lot more integration between tablets, phones, and the consoles over time. You're going to see people playing on glass at the same time they're playing on the console. And there's going to be some exciting innovations around that.

"And I think it's going to be an extension of moving from what's in the living room to what's outside the house. Even though it might not be playing on the console, it's connected to the console in some way."

I prefer the PS3 pad an always have done.

I'm going to try and stick to only buying one of the next gen consoles as well this time round as well.

saying that, it's some douche at EA spouting that rubbish out. :rolleyes:

cant wait for this announcement though! :)


edit: for the record, i would like to see sony take on a new controller shape! as long as its not wiimote or wand style i dont care. :p

Agreed, Although I swap and change between both pads with zero complaints.

I dont get the too small or too big points of view, but I suppose we all have different hand sizes. Mine must be a size that allows me to use either with little complaint.

Infact I much prefer PS3 controller for hack and slash games, Fighting games and JRPGs. 360 pad for the others

I've always said the analogue style PS pads have been a compromised design, ever since they were introduced for the original PS. The sticks were basically bolted onto the existing pad as quickly as possible to combat the N64.

Sony did themselves no favours by ******* up the triggers on the PS3 pad either.

A complete redesign would be welcome (for me), but maybe it will be more evolution than revolution. The pad's layout and design is now iconic, so will they risk ditching that familiarity?
