Playstation 4 being announced February 20th?

It did? I'm assuming that's in multiplayer.
Yeah it was - think it was just the multipliers and the like, I know in betas people get giving 'beta DLC' to show off them helping, be nice to see such simple gestures happen in games just because you might have gone out of your way to do something in a prequel. Doesnt appear to be hard/costly to do at face value.

ps3ud0

Still not 100% sure on this console, didn't have the wow factor like when the PS3 was first announced.

Im quite the opposite, i think Sony have nailed this time and with time we will see some breath taking games. I'm liking everthing they said, thier focus which is "gamers" which is what a console is supposed to be for. Manufacturers have lost site of this so its nice to see sony concentrate on what actually matters. Im suprised people on here arent more enthusiastic since many of us are gamers and are being catered for here.

My jaw nearly hit the floor when he said 8GB of GDDR5. The share function and Gakai stuff looks insane and will be a hit. The question really is will it run as well as ony hope it will.

Improved graphics will be a bonus but I want the next generation to offer far more than that. I want them to become all-round entertainment systems for the living room offering HD Freeview, PVR functionality, the ability to make video calls and quality Blu-ray playback meaning I can dump all of the other boxes under my TV.

I can agree to that as an extra but i would hope the main reason youre buying a "games" console is to play games :( If not pick up a smart BR player and save yourself some cash.

And it not just prettier graphics, for me its about immersion. Take Skyrim for example, great game but felt hollow. With these next gen systems the worlds will be so more immersive, more people, realistic lighting, better textures just everything will be more vibrant and less dull.

And nobody would buy it because it'd be too expensive.

Here it is put side by side. One with the developer talking over it and the one that was shown at the event. They are pretty much the exact same except from the car crash.

Gameplay demos will always be slightly scripted so they can control what they show people in the time allocation they have. Wouldn't be quite the same if he climbed up on the roof then had to wait 3 mins for a train would it?

I want the opposite lol. A games console should be a games console. I mean sure I'll take the Bluray player, but all that other stuff just gets in the way of gaming.

The rumours so far suggest that the new Xbox is going to push for the living room "centre hub" thing.

I just hope it isn't scripted tbh :p Looks like a great game but that would ruin it.

How? I want to play a game, I turn on the console and click play game.

I want to watch a video, I turn on the console and go to the videos section.

It doesn't impede my ability to play games at all
