Another thing that comes to mind. My PC isn't plugged straight in to the wall socket. It's plugged in to an extension lead which is then plugged in to the wall. Would that cause any issues? Just trying to think of everything now!
How is the performance in well optimised single player games? All I can describe it is a hitch/microstutter that lasts a milli-second but it's in every game I've tried which are:
DayZ
Delta Force
Fortnite
Arena Breakout
Stalker 2
Once Human
PUBG
It can't be a coincidence that all of them have the same problem?
It doesn't dip from saying 240fps to 30fps. It'll dip from 240 down to like 190 for example resulting in a tiny stutter.
I've tried all sorts in the BIOS, disabling ftpm for example. All types of combinations of GSync and VSync. Mouse polling rates. Every guide I can find on YouTube. Fresh Windows install. DDU the drivers.
I'm just so frustrated.
Definitely worth a try!could try plugging the pc directly into the wall to rule out a bad extension cable.
I can lock it to anything and it'll still do it. I've tried doing it through Nvidia and Riva Tuner.do the frame drop issues stop if you lock your fps to 144hz?, i uninstalled the nvidia app and got a good 10-15fps increase in stalker 2

When you say Nvidia app do you mean the control panel?
Weird as I don't have anything called Nvidia app and I'm on that driver?control panel has been replaced with the nvidia app, from driver 566.36 the app gets installed and is used as default, you can still get to the older control panel if you right click on desktop, with regard to the frame drops still happing even if you lock it, i would pay attention to the following GPU, PSU and Drives, be sure to update all drivers and make sure windows if fully updated, when you do play a game make sure the very least amount of background programs are running, as having too much stuff open in the background can hurt performance too. (NEVER use windows insider builds either, they are full of bugs, after all your the beta tester for windows if you do use it)
I haven't gone back to Windows 10 no.5 pages of comments
So may have missed something
Have you tried windows 10 if you're running 11?
Or tried linux (Ubuntu etc)
Just to try to clear up if its software or hardware issue
Tom's hardware just released something about nvidia app
Causing performance issues
Though don't think it was stuttering
More a fps overall drop
Though you may not have nvidia app installed anyway
Edit
Windows 11 preview on one of my drives
No issues like mentioned on it
Windows insider programI haven't gone back to Windows 10 no.
What do you mean Windows 11 preview?
