You can find out what hardware in installed in the cabinet your connected to, but you first need to find out what cabinet your connected to (using the BT checker) and then you can use the other site (which I think a link has been posted to) to find out what hardware is in it and if it's Huawei then it should be enabled, but if it's ECI then it's likely not to have been enabled yet.

Hmmm found my cabinet number, can't find the other site you're referring to though?

Didn't I read somewhere that if you reboot kit it sends a power off signal to the exchange avoiding the DLM.

Yes it does - DLM ignores it. It doesn't care, for the most part.

The correct method is to turn off the modem, unplug the cable after a few minutes (5-10), then leave it off for up to half an hour before you reboot it.

This is because when the DLM does another check (every 15 mins or so) it won't get a response from the modem and in conjunction with the dying gasp signal it won't take any action.

Reboot the modem off and on in quick succession and DLM will ignore the dying gasp and register it as an interrupted resync.

10p a minute for landline calls to geographical numbers?!

Huh? Even mobiles dont charge that much..

Are they trying to price the landline out of existence? Why would anyone pay 10p a minute to phone a local number on a fixed landline?

But if you don't use your landline, why pay for inclusive calls?

Recent changes and events at Plusnet are worrying both phone and broadband. When my LRS ends I'll be moving elsewhere.

Just completely cancelled my Sky account and signed up with Plusnet.

Was on 40mb fibre with Sky but have gone with 80mb with Plusnet, the estimater claims 66mb, are these conservative estimates or usually pretty accurate? Line is currently synced at maxed out for 40mb.

Also what is the preferred router for Plusnet fibre? Looking for stability, gigabit ethernet and wireless AC.

Thanks for the quick response.

I've currently got a N66U for my Sky Fibre with the merlin firmware but find the wireless terrible. I assumed that something better would have come out by now? Also does Plusnet user MER or is it just plug and play? Budget of around £100?
