Plusnet Discussion Thread

What changes and events, i'm aware of price increase but what else.

Yes, do expand please.

Apart from the increases to phone charges and line rental; Changes to the Help Assistant/Ticket system, changes to the customer support hours, removing the High Speed Broadband icon in the Member centre, removal of the performance graphs.

Thanks for the quick response.

I've currently got a N66U for my Sky Fibre with the merlin firmware but find the wireless terrible. I assumed that something better would have come out by now? Also does Plusnet user MER or is it just plug and play? Budget of around £100?

The AC66 is better.

Also, you must be doing something wrong, as I have the RT-N66U and the wireless is great all around my house.

Hmmm.....i have 76mb. Never even realised it was capped, never mind traffic shaped.
Quite often i'll get wifi dropouts so i have to reboot the plusnet router.
Whenever i've suspected an issue, i've never, repeat NEVER managed to get through to their customer support in less than 20 mins.
Personally i think their cust service sucks, but i'm happy with the speed i get.

Well today is switch day, woke up to find everything has seamlessly switched over (fibre/phone) and all is well. Getting 76mb/19mb which I presume is about the best I can hope for!

Rang sales but weren't convinced with the answer they gave, can you migrate from ADSL with another provider to Fibre with Plusnet with no downtime?

Right, this is hard work. Rung Plusnet and it seems my profile was set to an ADSL one hence the 19mb top out. This has been fixed and am now on 57/19. The estimater said 65mb and I was hitting higher when it was first switched on. Will DLM sort that out?

That's what I did without a problem over two years ago. IIRC I went from ADSL24 (standard BT based ADSL connection) to Plusnet fibre - obviously got the standard engineer visit to fix a faceplate/visit cabinet etc on the day of the switchover.

Anyone else been having issues with google results lately? If use Firefoxs google search to look for say a new graphics card and the shopping results are all US when before they were UK. Strange, if i use google .co.uk it works fine but i thought the results ypu get were geographical to your ip address (I'm not using a vpn).
