Plusnet Discussion Thread

I had mine put in this tuesday after a house move and they told me that it was Jan before they did that. If i want one as an upgrade it will be £90 apparently

How odd. I've just spoke to a bloke on the phone who told me that I'm getting the new router, and that it'll be a self install

Would have been nice to get a new Shiny MK3 VDSL faceplate, and see all the line stats from the engineers diagnostics unit though. I'll have to stick with my MK2!

Been with Plusnet since last April and they've been faultless, pings to games I play are super low and speeds are great.

Anyone had any luck with renegotiating a new, cheaper discount as an existing customer whos contract is up?

24 month contract? When I signed up in was 18 months.

18months for me too 80/20 £10 for first 6 months then £19.99 after that

i had bt infinity2 but i cancelled everything a few months ago

and waiting to be enabled due tomorrow the 5th

ill up some pics of the hub one soon

Definitely a 24 month contract I agreed to, and confirmed via their Customer Service representative.

£15 a month good?

We've just signed up to a 24 month contract

I'm hoping we get the new Plusnet Hub One Fibre Router (rebranded HH5)

You will get the new Hub One, i ordered nearly 3 weeks ago and it went live Tuesday and i got the Hub One, infact i got both as i was sent the Hub Zero and on the day i received the Hub Zero in the post they also started offering the Hub One to upgrade customers so they sent me one of those as well:D

Yep, even with BT Sport HD included it's cheaper than with BT.

Awesome :D

You did the self install then? It strikes me as a little odd that they no longer come into the house and replace the master socket with a VDSL MK3 faceplate. I bought a MK2 and new NTE5A off ebay a few months back to replace the one we've had since the stone age :o

No they didn't offer self installs when i ordered so i still had an engineer visit but he didn't have to actually do anything other than test the line as i already had a MK3 faceplate anyway.

Did you install the MK3 yourself? ;)

Any chance of a screenshot of your line Stats from the BT DSL checker?

No an engineer did it about a month ago when they were investigating a potential fault on my line.

Possible to get Plusnet Fibre if you're in an FTTP area?
I tried their website and it only shows that it can offer me ADSL2+.

It's a pretty disjointed mess of a trial from what I can tell from a skim of their forums as well.

If you are interested in trialling it then by all means join PlusNet on an ADSL package and then request the trial, but just don't be surprised when it feels like you're in a trial. I know that sounds weird but there's a lot of people who assume it's just a way to get a product that PlusNet are fully versed in but just don't put on their website.

If you need the connection then go with someone who offers it as standard. I think that's just BT at the moment.
