Plusnet Discussion Thread

Just order the PN product and request your MAC on Monday when you can get it - just leave the MAC blank on the new order and make sure you supply PN with it when you get it on Monday. At least you can start the ball rolling.

I am moving house soon and the new house is in a fibre area and I am thinking about getting PN unlimited but without phone line rental. Will this affect the speed or will i have to pay for a line even though i wont use it.

You will have to pay line rental.

I placed my order just before. So how many of you got your preffered install date?

I really hope the switch over is a smooth and hassle free process.

Quick question for bobpullen.

I'm currently on BTs unlimited fibre package but considering moving to Plusnet to save some money whilst the 6 month half price offer is on.

As I already have a BT openreach modem installed will I still need an engineer visit and would there be any downtime of the service whilst switching from BT to Plusnet (apart from on the day of switchover). Thanks

There are some routers with builtin modems you can use. I haven't seen any alternative standalone modems for sale.

From what I've read you're better off using the BT supplied modem and a decent router of your choice.

No need for an engineer to visit & no downtime.

I'm still waiting. Sent a very strongly worded email off to the Openreach woman posted upthread. It's nearly two months now. Still not even got DSL and Openreach have failed to keep two out of the three appointments they made.
