Plusnet Discussion Thread

Just found out Fibre has appeared in my area out of the blue, no announcement or anything so just signed up for 40/10 Unlimited Fibre for £17.50 a month for the lenght of the 18 month contract (suck living in a market 1 area but the guy on the phone said he would check what deal he could give me) only need to wait 2 weeks for an engineer to turn up now. :)
 
as soon as fiber appears in my area (next few months) I will be going plusnet over sky as sky is unwilling to match this price for 40-10, with the free install and £7.50 for 6 months & £15 for the rest of the contract it beats skys £10 for 6 months & £20 there after.
 
Just ordered the top fibre package from PN, international calls with L/R. £35 for nine months £42 for 9 months :) Will do me.. Especially since the cabinet is maybe a 10 mtrs cable run at most !!

Speed test looks good from BT looks good :)

Just received a message on my account homescreen to say there was a problem with my fibre unlimited order, spent 30 minutes on hold to find out my order I placed over the phone last wednesday (9th July) can't be found on their system and they will need to put in a new order.

Should have been installed on the 23rd July I now have to wait till the 4th August for an engineer, luckily I still have the confirmation email they sent when I ordered with the £17.50 a month for 18 months offer so I still get that.

Not happy but what can you do. :rolleyes:
 
Has anybody had an extension cable installed.

My pc is in my small bedroom upstairs and my master socket is in my living room, I'm wondering if it's internal install only or if the Openreach engineer will drill and fit an external cable.
 
I plugged my own router into the OR Modem but once settled the lan1 activity light doesn't flash and there is no internet.

It flashes for a few seconds when the router is rebooted but nothing after that.

Does anyone know why? Any setting I need to change?
 
Have you entered your correct username and password details in the router?

What router are you using?

Ah didn't know I had to do this (only ever had Virgin Fibre), is it the username and password I have with Plusnet or do I have to pull the details from the modem?

Router is a Samsung CY-SWR1100.
 
When you signed up to PN you had to pick a user and they send you a password via Email iirc. :)

'something' @plusdsl.net off the top of my head?
