Try it wired as it's more than likely the homeplugs that's the problem.
I've previously found putting in a complaint to BT Openreach tends to get things moving quickly.
Email their CEO. The CEO won't answer, but the executive complaints team as they call themselves will, and will pass this to the equivalent team at Plusnet.

I just bought the Billion 8800nl it's a modem and router combined so less clutter on the desk and I like it, can be had for around £65works great on my Plusnet fibre
Right I'm currently with BT and I ordered the switch to plusnet last week to which plusnet said the switch would be complete by 9/1/15 (which is tomorrow)
I've heard nothing from them all week and now BT has cut me off, so I'm left with no Internet connection (I'm using my phone atm)
Is this normal? Should I ring plusnet to get them to pull their finger out? Not too impressed so far if I'm honest.
I'd already be on the phone asking whats going on?
Yeah, just rang them. Its sorted now. Apparently the guys that do the technical switchover work, didnt inform the office that it was done. So when I rang up, he checked my account and could see that the work was done. So he basically just "switched" it on.
