Plusnet Discussion Thread

Should be fine, I can stream movies on two TV's and my son can game online no problem with our 'up to 38' connection.

Starting to get disapointed with plusnet now, they said my VLAN over utalisation would be resolved by yesterday however yesterday night rolls around and my 70+mbps connection had this

its difficult to get a proper reply out of them and in the mean time my "fibre" broadband struggles to stream netflix :(

Sorry to double post but does anyone know where i stand or what i can do to "light a fire under their bum" as its starting to get rediclous. My ticket has been open since the 13th december and i just keep getting replies now about how my line has been synced for 11 days and is synced at a good speed. Where this is not even the issue.

It seems plusnet staff do not even read the conversation on the tickets.

I am thinking of upgrading our router (Plusnet Technicolor TG582n FTTC) to something better.

Lot's of people recommend the Asus RT-N66U which seems like it could do the trick but what do you recommend for under £100 or around about's...

There are no problems with the current Plusnet one but I do want something with a few more controls /parental controls.

Specifically so I can turn off devices at certain times and block access to a few websites and programs, Our house consists of mostly smart phone usage ;) xbox and tablet /laptop stuff with my main PC being the only real always on device.

I just bought the Billion 8800nl it's a modem and router combined so less clutter on the desk and I like it, can be had for around £65 :) works great on my Plusnet fibre

Right I'm currently with BT and I ordered the switch to plusnet last week to which plusnet said the switch would be complete by 9/1/15 (which is tomorrow)
I've heard nothing from them all week and now BT has cut me off, so I'm left with no Internet connection (I'm using my phone atm)
Is this normal? Should I ring plusnet to get them to pull their finger out? Not too impressed so far if I'm honest.

Yeah, just rang them. Its sorted now. Apparently the guys that do the technical switchover work, didnt inform the office that it was done. So when I rang up, he checked my account and could see that the work was done. So he basically just "switched" it on.

So my internet has been on for about 4 hours now, and this is my result
